Reading on these posts ,ND is trying to flip DE Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa from USC to ND, DE J Harris from Arizona to ND , DE D. Thomas from Nebraska to ND . I guess you keep trying no matter if the odds are against you . Maybe get lucky with one . Seems though from the posts on this website that Tagovailoa Amosa is a real strong lean to USC. . But I do hope the coaching staff comes up with 2 or 3 surprises in February . Definitely need help and depth on defensive line

Kofi Wardlow an DE commit to Maryland is scheduled to make a visit to ND this weekend, assuming the visit from Elston today goes as expected. To my knowledge, the only other DL scheduled to visit is Jalen Harris, the Arizona commit, who is schedule for the following weekend. Haven't read anything of late about progress with Demetrius Thomas or Amosa, nor anything about Cage.
Amosa and Harris would legitimate roster upgrades and are coveted guys I really want. Is an impact freshman, but Amosa could be a roatational guy at 3-tech by his sophomore season, while Harris likely won't be ready to have an impact until his junior year, but that's more than ok given the fact that ND recruited 3 quality WDE's last year.
Wardlow is interesting because he's an impressive athlete, with obvious upside, but right he simply has a long way to go as a football player. Reminds me very much of when I first watched Prince Shembo on tape. At the time he was a thick, athletic, 6'2, 230lb kid that loved contact, but needed to learn how to play ball. Several years later he was a 255lb, effective edge setter and pass rusher. That's my comparison for Wardlow. He's going to be 6'2, 250+lb, strong kid. He really just needs someone to teach him the ins and outs of football.
What makes Wardlow intriguing is the fact he has only played organized football for two years, I believe. So, your assessment seems spot on as to his development.

Could be our version of Werner, the German DL at FSU few years ago. Dominant while he was still learning the game.
Wardlow has been visited by Elko and Elston now, and will be on campus this weekend. Read he is 6-3 and 230, very quick and athletic with frame to easily handle another 30 lbs. love this kid upside and hope we get him to flip this weekend. We also have Fields (safety), Norwood (cb), Genmark Heath (safety or Rover), and Yeast (athlete) visiting this weekend. Would love to get Wardlow and Yeast to sign on, but would be happy with everyone on this list....good solid plan B guys who will play and contribute.

Saban and Meyer seem to get the most from their players. They get nice recruits but they also get their kids producing and drafted high. Sometimes higher than they deserve. Holtz was great at that too.
Kelly is light years from getting that. He can't even get his kids to defy the odds and win one football game they shouldn't.

88 not going to argue with you about wether Kelly is a good or bad coach his tenure has had its ups and downs. On the contrary to say that he has no bearing on kids making the pros or developing them is a poor argument. If you feel that way then every rivals top 250 prospects that doesn't make the pros was failed by the coach that got them into the program and every #1 class that Bama has with all their 5 and 4 star classes coaches didn't develop and while we are at it let's extend it to all the other programs.
Obviously such a blanketed statement like that makes no sense and that's exactly what you're doing. Kids progress or they don't for a multitude of reasons.
