That was pathetic. Not hitting FT's cost them a final 4 berth last year. ND isn't even a tournament level team this season. They have no bench. If they sneak in the Big dance it'll be a one and done exit.
yes pers Monmouth beat ucla, usc and Drexel and they should be a tournament team this march with the way there playing but free throws and poor defense cost our irish this game
Actually that would have been a good resume builder for ND . Monmouth is legit. I have to criticize Brey and if anyone disagrees with me I would need an explanation . Game tied at 68. Monmouth ball with 32 seconds left . The last guy ND wanted with the ball in his hand was the point guard . ND had 5 team fouls . I said to myself Monmouth is waiting too long at the half court line and ND is going to be able to foul with like 3 seconds left leaving Monmouth with little time to execute a play . NO ND does not do that and Jackson fouls the best player on the team and lose at the foul line . I do not understand that logic on the part of ND . Foul and make them have to set up an inbound play with little time. Game should have went to OT. What did Brey have to say about that ? Was that asked. He even called a time out . To set up hi defense. That was not discussed ? Foul on the floor. Foul on the floor.
Brey is a good guy but he doesn't develop his bench by giving them quality minutes. ND always drops a game early in the year. We aren't going to the final 4 so just enjoy the games we play well in. We have some nice players but the top tier teams are loaded with talent. Monmouth was up for the game then gained momentum. Life goes on.
