on the day after the annual football banquet. Don't we usually hear some feedback from the recruits and start projecting the three or four commitments we expect or hope to get by the end of the weekend? I'm hoping Pascal (sp?) got his coursework completed and is offered and commits. We desperately need another rush DE and he seems an excellent fit. We need an outside linebacker to replace the Wariner de-commit, and I think Simmons is our top choice, but we have competition. I think both of these are on campus this weekend. We have need of another CB and Safety, and I know our OP target for CB is from Souhern Cal, but haven't seen much written on his recruitment for several weeks. Anybody reading or hearing anything of interest coming out of this weekend? Whether you like or hate Kelly, we should all be pulling for a strong finish to this recruitment class. Sorry for any misspellings. Just had should r surgery and pecking with one finger on offhand.

I think people are exhausted.
I'm exhausted from hoping we could have a run like 87-93 again.
I'm tired of not playing physical football.
I'm tired that Notre Dame can't recruit enough quality defensive lineman and nothing has been done about it for decades.
I'm tired of Brian Kelly 's hats in the box- check with me offense.
First year ever- that I deleted a game I DVR'd without watching it.
I went to the Miami game this year.
My father is basically dragging me to the Georgia game next year.
I don't even want to go.
I read people thinking we can win 10-11 games next year.
People need to get real-
with what depth- players on the defensive line?
I don't even know what to hope for anymore.
I will always be a diehard fan. I will root like hell for Brian Kelly to make the necessary changes to be a better head coach.
Just not hopeful for any of it.

Thomas Graham is an early enroll so we should find out real quick where he is going. Still CB'd to ND, but it is close with a few schools.

Zoro...I described myself as having Kelly fatigue in a prior post, so I get what you're saying. Still, recruiting is the lifeblood of the program, and i can still find interest and excitement over new cmmits, etc... it would be a hell of a lot more interesting if we had a newly hired DC from outside with serious cache and we were seeing a surge of interest of high value DL. Absent this, still hope some of our recruitnicks throw out some scuttltebtt.
CGVR...probably 100 to 1!

Hoping your shoulder heals quickly and perfectly. You need to be in present opening shape.

Why post here anymore. If you're not totally into bashing Kelly then there's nothing here to discuss anymore. Like the Phoenix I expect a great ND team to rise from the ashes next year! With 15 to 17 returning starters and a new DC, there's a surge of hope like a mountain spring running from the rocks. Go Irish!!!

haven't heard anything today but wiltfong the other day thinks our irish land 5 star CA ATH Greg Johnson and top five rated CA CB Thomas Graham ater the banquet. wiltfong isn't as accurate in his picks as in the past and so who knows

I tried posting a week ago about recruiting, the dc position, Kizer staying or going and some said I was supporting Kelly. He is returning for 17 so i felt it best to talk about the offseason, next season.

recruiting insider loy just put in a CBfor 5 star Johnson to go to usc but loy isn't always right just like wiltfong isn't always right. i'll wait to hear what the player says when he gets back home

His posts are true Pennick and not exhausting to read. After 7 years, the Kelly and Swarbick naysayers have seen enough to know changes are needed to restore ND to national prominence. All the "happy faces" posters on this board will not change that fact.

CGVR...I ask for one and the same present every year and our son delivers, a bottle of MaCallan Rare Cask Scotch. My wife will open and I'll test with my good arm. Thanks for your thoughts.

Cool and Texasnd...if we get Graham, we have a damn good core of young corners. Never expected Johnson and was surprised that some had him a heavy lean. Just seems like the kind of kid that USC gets every year. Is Pascal the correct name of the DE we've targeted for months who we declined his commit because of class work deficiency? He seems to be exactly the type of talent we haven't been able to recruit for a position of great need!

Ara, returning a lot of starters won't make a big difference unless we get a quality DC who brings some good position coaches with him. I still fear Kelly will stick with his inner circle and promote Elston, and we won't get the jolt to the program's culture that it desperately needs. The clock is ticking!

He is a bore. You and he should call each other and bitch about life.

Think they said something like that in Flint, Michigan.

Oh dear Lord, your comparison of kelly to Rockne went over like a lead balloon. The disgusting troll's loss total last year equaled a decade of the legend's.
NCAA probation vacated wins... the current ND website is in NCAA violation. They have 45 days to adhere to the ruling and remove the vacated wins.....among other things....

Good stuff Ara! Keep em coming. Looking forward to next year.

Graham announcing Friday. Some late CBs to Oregon so we will see.
I really have know idea where he will go right now unlike early fall when I thought he was all irish. recruiting insider wiltfong say irish but west coast Oregon isider Justin hopkins put in a CB for Graham to the ducks but Hopkins is a ducks homer and thinks they are getting every top west coast recruit every year that the ducks recruit and so I don't put too much stock into what he says

Delusional? Aren't you being that?

All you do is focus on reasons for Kelly to be fired, and for your information he's being kept on this time around. So, you can keep on bitching, pissing, and moaning for another year. The rest of us will focus on what the team can do until that happens.

I am disgusted. Not sure how much interest I can muster as long as Kelly is there. If the guy won 11 games next year I would feel the same. He is wrong for us. So I am going they motions I care about recruiting but the kids are misused and not developed

Easy to curb my enthusiasm these days

Ski...I hear you. My personal fear is that I'll give into my disgust and walk away, and I know myself well enough to know that if I do, I won't come back. I love ND football and hate that Jack and Kelly have put many of us in this position.

I think the noise is going to get so loud to fire Kelly that he will get fired soon enough. Just think about it----every big game--Florida State, Clemson, Stanford--games that would turn the tide with an Irish victory we lose in heartbreaking fashion. Kelly is toast.. I hope we can get a homerun hire--like Urban Meyer.

I fear that your type will jump off the Golden Gate Bridge a year from now. Next year will be rough on the field, again.

Lack of effort? Really?
Did you not watch the 2013 Pitt game? Lack of effort cost ND that game. Simply pick up that loose ball. Three ND players stood there and did nothing. Jump on it and ND likely wins.

2015 - down a combined 21-0 at Clemson and Stanford on the first three combined drives of those games. That's either not having your team ready or lacking effort. Either way it's unacceptable.

2016 - I was at the MSU game. I didn't see much effort from that front seven in the process of getting down 36-7 to a terrible team.

i feel the same....i'm still thinking I will wake up from this nightmare and we will have a new coach...

Enjoy calling people on here morons for another year. Stay classy and enjoy another losing season next year too.
Please show me where I called someone a moron. BTW, I don't enjoy losing any more than anyone else. I'm just facing the reality that Kelly is here at least for another year.

What does recruiting really matter when Kelly will find a way to squander it? Each year we go in with a guaranteed 2 losses due to pathetic coaching. How can anyone get excited going into a season when there is no hope at all of winning 10 games and winning a major bowl?

On top of that we have an administration that refuses to make any changes to make us even a little more competitive.

Hard to be excited about ND football.

And good luck complaining about Kelly for another entire year.
Won't need any luck. It's a surefire guarantee that Kelly will do more than enough idiotic things and have this team ill-prepared enough for there to be more than enough reasons to complain about him.

Kelly is a DII coach trying to match wits with some of the best in the business... unfortunately he comes to the battle unarmed.

Java - I know you're read some of my other posts and you know I'm not disputing the fact that Kelly needs to be replaced. I'm just getting tired of reading nothing other than discussing reasons for firing him and/or Swarbrick.

We have another entire year before that happens (if it does then), so why not focus our threads on other topics?

Honestly, I cannot make a logical argument against what you say. I think so many, including myself, are so disgusted about the situation they haven't come to grips with the fact he's going to be back.

There is a small part of me that still holds out hope they are working on firing him. Even though I realize, and have for some time, he'll be back.

So I guess there are some like me that are still working through it and venting helps. That said you are correct I guess I need to start coming to terms with it and maybe focus on recruiting. I'm not sure how many stages of grief there are but I'm certain I haven't reached the acceptance stage yet ;)

recruiting insiders loy and wiltfong think that 4 star CA CB Thomas Gaham goes elsewhere now and not to south bend. they are also saying that they think top 12 rated MD DE Joshua Paschal now goes to Kentucky instead of our irish because they just brought in his brother to join the staff in Lexington. Michigan hires family and friends to get recruits to ann arbor and now Kentucky is doing it
