Seeing as UGA was a must win, and it was the most predictable loss I've ever seen with examples of the offensive line not being able to win against anyone with talent, and some of the worst play calling I've ever seen, I think BK tenure is over. We will not beat USC or Stanford. So 8-4 7-5 looks to be the case. Surely he will get another year because of all the new changes, and next year the same results. With that being said I have been thinking of another Kelly to come take the job

Chip Kelly...

Enormous success at Oregon and failure at NFL only because he was not used to dealing with men. He is the boost of modernity this program needs. He will not live in the freaking past, he will cut the throat of the opponent when leading. He is an alpha college coach, BK is not.

He would be the 1b to the 1a of pj fleck. Fleck needs at least 3 years at Minny, and there is no patience for that. Thoughts?

Yes this is what ND needs in a head coach and in the admin.
The football team has lacked a killer instinct for a long time. Often they will get early leads and then take their foot off the gas and squander opportunities to finish an opponent. In college football winning is not enough. You need to win with style.

Oregon under Chip Kelly would absolutely go for the jugular of their opponents.

ND does not need a guy who has an NCAA show cause penalty on his resume.

Didn't ND cheat in the year that they made the title game against Bama ? ND sucks even when they cheat hahaha. That's bad. Chip Kelly will teach ND how to cheat properly.

Agreed. Look at Lou Holtz,ncaa at his doorstep all the time. No angels in this profession.
 
So basically, the premise of this thread is "Let's just cheat and do whatever so that we win"?

That tells me a lot about some posters on here. No character; no integrity.
 
Blaming Kelly for the grandstanding Admin having to vacate wins as a way to argue that Chip Kelly should be acceptable to Norte Dame is silly and without merit, and augmenting the argument with the Declan Sullivan tragedy is nauseating. I fell in love with ND football as a young kid because they were winners, and kept that love burning as an adult because they do embody a spirit of values and integrity that work towards achieving a balance between student and athlete and winning and ethics which does stand out in today's college football. We don't need moral perfection in our head coach, but we do need head coaches who value integrity and strive to hold themselves and their coaches to such a standard. When it's time to replace Kelly, this will not preclude ND from getting a winner. Beat BC!

No nobody wants to flat out cheat, I just think that what chip did is no doubt forgivable. Every coach has done something dirty, chip should not be untouchable

There are not a whole lot of people out there who have received show cause penalties from the NCAA Chip Kelly is one. Jim Tressel is another. ND does not need people with this kind of baggage.

I put chip kelly in the bucket of other seemingly good coaches that don't have the recruiting chops to put the team over the hump.

chip kelly, despite his success at oregon, and despite that program's trendy/growing popularity during his tenure there, STILL failed to really move the needle in terms of recruiting at oregon.

we need a coach that is as good at the x's and o's/leadership aspect of coaching, as he is a salesman who can capture the interest of the very elite athletes coming out of high school every year.

i don't think chip kelly is that guy.

That's the one knock on him, you're right. Never had overwhelming classes. I think PJ Fleck would be a top 3 recruiter year in and year out at ND, but he needs at least 2 years at minny. Chip is probably chomping at the bit to coach
