Bowen to make a “final decision” soon

Well, one could read into it that he may be having 2nd thoughts, other schools in his ear --

Granted, he is "committed" to ND -- but, if he was really committed, why is a "final" decision nearing?

Without any other context to go on, all we have is the OP's initial comments.

Yeah thats why I said why. Could be good, could be bad.

You could also read into it that he's shutting his recruitment down and not taking any more visits

Need more context

so was he ever really committed? Very strange. I’m not counting this one until December. Chatter on A&M board mos ago was “ soft committ at best”. Dismissed it at the time but maybe something to it.

The only thing I know is -- since his commitment, he has taken several visits -- most notably to Texas A&M.

But, as I have always said, they are free agents until LOI day -- can't really be upset aboout losing something you never really had.

He has been to Texas A&M three times since he committed to ND. That being said it is 90 minutes from home. He has also been to Alabama and Oklahoma for unofficial visits. Hoping for a Jerry Tillery type of situation here. I am not hopeful though as he has not made it back up to Notre Dame....for an official or unofficial visit as far as I know.

He officially visited us in June and it was a great visit.

He goes on a lot of visits with his brother who is a 24 recruit who we are in on. His brother also visited in June

He may decommit, in just saying there was no context to that post

Because he’s committed to us, but based off this news that commitment means nothing. Pair that with his recent visits to AM and it doesn’t look good…
When you recruit the best players from the south, they are going to take visits. This is par for the course. Something we have to get used to if we want to recruit the best of the best

It's one thing to take a tour and like a school, another to verbal,

and yet another when the A&M boosters actually offer you a big NIL deal, legal or otherwise.

That tweet is dated today...
Do you not want Dylan Edwards?

How about Boubocar Traore?

I dont know what that means
It means if one recruit's commitment seems firm we can move on worrying about someone else.

Likewise we can get excited about the next uncommitted propect.

For once I agree with NDDL, it seems worrisome that a verbally committed recruit would announce that he is about to make a decision. Didn't he already do that?

He was still taking visits and there's a lot of talk about him.

I read this as he might be announcing that he’s shutting down his recruitment. His mom was interviewed not long ago and said he talks differently when he talks about ND. That he refers to other recruits like “I think WE can get them.” It’s clear to me that most ND fans wanted to recruit with the big boys but aren’t mentally prepared to go through it. People have already written off Keon and Bowen and I’ve seen other sites where some are saying the coaches should just move on. Move on? You don’t move on from guys this good. If we miss out we go down swinging

Possible. Novosad did the same thing. Sometimes ND is just home.
