My respect for Freeman's tenacity as a recruiter is growing by the minute. This guy doesn't take no for an answer and we need that kind of tireless perserverance on the trecruiting trail at ND right now. Weis had that, glad we got that in Freeman too.
We need to put away any emotions of being burned and realize that these top .001% football players are more in demand than ever. With all the pressures involved on their decision too, I can see how they might have some trouble with impulse sometimes.
I got my fingers crossed Freeman can seal the deal. Bowen's football skills, if he's somehow acquired in the 11th hour, will make ALL the decision anxiety worth it in the end even if we just get 1 full season.
Fair point and good perspective on Freeman. From the Bowen perspective, my distaste comes from how he has handled everything. Even as impulse, as I said in another thread, just handle it with class. You can be indecisive but still go out in style. This would be an example I would share with my kid on how to not handle a situation. My respect for Freeman's tenacity as a recruiter is growing by the minute. No. ND needs to shut the door. The kids a fruit cake. Bye.
The poster you responded to is a clown.Freeman just texted me and told me that he is so relieved that you are impressed with him.
lol c'mon guy it's christmas give me a break
A poster repeatedly calling another poster a clown time after time in post after post should take a hard look in the mirror. The poster you responded to is a clown.
And the same shit has been happening for years.
I hope that despite how apparently annoyed a handful of you OGs here are by my content, that you can maybe at least relate to me on my loyalty to and desire for Notre Dame to win.
He doesn’t give anybody a break. We’re lucky to have him, a board treasure.lol c'mon guy it's christmas give me a break
Are his criticisms unwarranted? Don’t agree with all of his takes but he really doesn’t say anything crazy lol.I've told you many times that you need to find another school to pull for. Again and again, you complain about ND's coaching, recruiting, NIL, monetary outlay, and myriad other things. Enough is enough.

Nobody in their right mind has ‘emotions’ about this..which is indeed sad indictment on this boardMy respect for Freeman's tenacity as a recruiter is growing by the minute. Bowen has the talent where even at #14 overall a lot of people think he's underrated. We need this player really badly.
You and the cop killers want a break.lol c'mon guy it's christmas give me a break
As long as said poster posts the same drivel, day after day after day, it will elicit the same response.A poster repeatedly calling another poster a clown time after time in post after post should take a hard look in the mirror.
Too many beers for you tonight? You don't like my posts? Just put me on ignore.
I get it's frustrating, but let's be honest about this. Large sums of money are being thrown at these 18 year olds. Most of them coming from households struggling financially.No. ND needs to shut the door. The kids a fruit cake. Bye.
Ignore SJB. He’s not here to talk football.A poster repeatedly calling another poster a clown time after time in post after post should take a hard look in the mirror.
See you can’t even take a compliment. I love your posts. Long live, 78.You don't like my posts? Just put me on ignore.
I don't understand this stance whatsoever. Perhaps it's the childish tone that I'm having a hard time understanding.I've told you many times that you need to find another school to pull for. Again and again, you complain about ND's coaching, recruiting, NIL, monetary outlay, and myriad other things. Enough is enough.
Its not higher expectations- It’s a lack of understanding what Notre Dame stands for and values. His win at all cost attitude does not align with the ND mission and why 78 suggest he root for a team that is in alignment with his vision. I’d rather see ND take the Ivy league route than fall to this current landscape.I don't understand this stance whatsoever. Perhaps it's the childish tone that I'm having a hard time understanding.
I butt heads with @chaseball and the F+P+123 horeshit or whatever the **** he uses but he's simply a fan and wants to see our beloved be as good as they can possibly be.
Perhaps it bothers him you tend to have this carefree "however the season goes so be it" attitude?
I don't see him saying enough is enough how can you be happy getting trounced in the biggest of games, etc?
Ultimately he's a fan. If his expectations are higher than yours so be it.
It's not really a big deal. I promise you. If he'd like to see us compete with the very best again it doesn't impact you one bit. I'd even venture to say there are more of his ilk present day than yours. In other words 29 years since being truly competitive with the top brass in CFB is far too long. Embarrassingly too long.
Three decades.... and 35 years since a title?.?
Yeah I'd venture to say there is definitely some overdue sentiment from many passionate fans at this point.
Lastly...
The best and most important option...
And what I don't understand....
If he bothers you that much then don't read it.
I'll even raise you one in that you can simply ignore him so you don't accidentally see his messages.
Problem solved.......unless.....
You're just a negative person and can't help yourself but to read something you so despise.
So here you go...
Here's a link to Chase's account and all you have to do is hit the ignore button.
It's in your court now and it's put up or shut up time.
Ignoring is free. Can you...will you actually do it though?
Doesn’t matter. He should not be allowed in the class no matter what.I get it's frustrating, but let's be honest about this. Large sums of money are being thrown at these 18 year olds. Most of them coming from households struggling financially.
I'm sure deep down he wants to go to ND, but the upfront money is hard to pass up if it would help his family. That's alot of pressure for an 18 year old deciding whether to take the money that would benefit his family, the people he cares about most, or go to ND where deep down he probably wants to go.
Rivals paying you $600K a year? Must be an influencer getting paid by the post. Not saying all ND grads are in the same boat, but I can tell you that a ND degree is going to yield me about $16 million over the next 25 years. That’s just income, not including what I’ve already made in the past, and not counting investments. Not making that with an Oregon degree. ND isn’t some podunk school and there’s a reason people spend a lot to go there. Hope Bowen doesn’t tear an ACL or get too many concussions. But a lot of these guys will blow it on strippers and cocaine and won’t invest a dime.

I even have time to post here. Not all bad.Rivals paying you $600K a year? Must be an influencer getting paid by the post.
Why? Because his MUM can clean a house? Maybe his father is in construction. Not saying all ND grads are in the same boat, but I can tell you that a ND degree is going to yield me about $16 million over the next 25 years. But a lot of these bag guys will blow it on strippers and cocaine and won’t invest a dime.I get the argument that some families need the cash. I can tell you based on the in home visit Christmas photos the Bowen’s posted, they aren’t one of them. This decision was based on a whim of his. I truly believe Peyton Bowen has some issues.
Practice what you preach then....You don't like my posts? Just put me on ignore.

It would appear that the Ivy League might be immune from the chaos created by NIL and the TPI agree with this 100%. The way CFB is going, it would not surprise me if a group of 30 or so schools break away and form their own conference. They will be essentially an NFL minor league, where kids are paid salaries, and where there is not even the pretense that the athletes attend classes.
The remaining schools will still play football, but will agree to a system where such things as NIL are capped at modest ceilings and where there is an emphasis on education. My guess is that ND would be in the second group.
We will see.
