We are taking players that fit a profile vs have done it on the field yet. It's being reported that's what the staff is doing for LB/Dline more. I get some of that, but it feels like we're doing it too much unless we're going to over sign and take 4 lbs this class.

KVA and Cole are much better and more talented prospects. Neither are 5 stars and Cole is a 3 star.

Should ND "only" recruit players who have Georgia, Alabama, or Ohio State offers? Or, do they recuit players that fit ND's system, program, culture, school, etc?
Recuit players who fit, have the grades, and want to be at ND!

we aren't going to come up against them for everyone. More interesting that virginia and penn state didn't offer, ohio state as well. Penn state has done really well with LBs in general.

Not everyone that is a fit and ND realizes it or wants it. You need to recruit more than just the obvious fits.

Long and fast Seems to be the profile. We’ve recruited linebacker really well the past couple years, and we have the luxury of having someone like Kahoun growing and developing for a couple years before his position is set. That said, I want Asa more than ever given our two LB takes thus far.

yep, he and Cole i'm very high on.

We've landed 4 most likely good LBs the last 2 years, 2 have been moved to the DL. Although very good recruiting, if our 5th year guys move on after this year we have room to add more and need to.

He committed to play Lacrosse at Ohio St over a year ago, so this may have impacted his recruitment. I hope he decides to play football only at ND as I think he has a very high upside If committed and singularly focused on one sport.

Funny you should say that. notice his announcement referenced academics before football. “Excited to announce my commitment to further my academics and play football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish”
