QUARTERBACK
Commits
Steve Angeli, 6-2, 210, Oradell, N.J. (Bergen Catholic)

Top Targets
Walker Howard, 6-0, 186, Lafayette, La. (St. Thomas More)
Devin Brown, 6-2, 185, Draper, Utah (Corner Canyon)

Other Players To Know
None (yet).

Projected take: 1-2

Thoughts: Although it's no guarantee that Notre Dame takes a second quarterback in the 2022 class, it certainly seems to be trending in that direction. The problem is they're late in the game with trying to flip Devin Brown, and Walker Howard is expected to stick with LSU. The Irish recently offered Brown, and they have an uphill battle for him as well. Notre Dame will look at other signal callers as well and have already made contact with Florida pledge Nick Evers of Flower Mound, Texas. Could in-state quarterback Brady Allen, a Purdue commit, get a look from Notre Dame too? Would the Irish look at the transfer portal? This will be very interesting to track down the stretch.

RUNNING BACK
Commits
Jadarian Price, 5-11, 175, Denison, Texas (Denison)

Top Targets
None.

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 1-2

Thoughts: With James Franklin signing a long term deal with Penn State, it seems unlikely the Irish will be able to flip Nicholas Singleton from the Nittany Lions. Notre Dame seems to be rolling with just one running back in the 2022 class with Jadarian Price locked in, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of a second back. Could there be decommitments elsewhere who Notre Dame could get involved with? Is Quinshon Judkins, an Ole Miss commit, still a possibility? Would the staff want to insert an experienced back from the transfer portal into the roster? We should get a better idea of the staff's plans at running back soon.

WIDE RECEIVER
Commits
Tobias Merriweather, 6-4, 180, Vancouver, Wash. (Union)
Amorion Walker, 6-3, 170, Ponchatoula, La. (Ponchatoula)
CJ Williams, 6-2, 193, Santa Ana, Calif. (Mater Dei)

Top Targets
Wesley Grimes, 6-2, 173, Raleigh, N.C. (Millbrook)

Other Players To Know
Xayvion Bradshaw, 6-0, 185, Bluefield, Va. (Graham)
Joseph Griffin, 6-4, 194, Springfield, Mass. (Central)

Projected take: 3-4

Thoughts: I have players listed in the top targets and other players to know section, but I don't think they are realistic options at all at this point. Notre Dame's full focus is on keeping its three receiver commitments locked in and would be ecstatic if they hold on to on three and sign just them. I doubt Notre Dame signs four receivers in this class, but we'll see.

Tobias Merriweather is locked in with Notre Dame, but all of the sudden, CJ Williams is a real possibility to flip with USC, UCLA and others in hot pursuit of him, but Notre Dame is continuing its battle to keep him and will have an in-home visit with him after the Stanford game. Amorion Walker has been on flip watch for months with all of the visits he's taken elsewhere, but I still like Notre Dame to hold on to him, and the Irish staff will go in-home with him late next week.

TIGHT END
Commits
Eli Raridon, 6-6, 220, West Des Moines, Iowa (Valley)
Holden Staes, 6-4, 230, Atlanta (Westminster)

Top Targets
None.

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 2

Thoughts: Notre Dame is done at the tight end position with Eli Raridon and Holden Staes committed.

OFFENSIVE LINE
Commits
Ty Chan, 6-6, 265, Groton, Mass. (Lawrence Academy)
Joey Tanona, 6-5, 290, Zionsville, Ind. (Zionsville)
Ashton Craig, 6-5, 275, Lawrenceburg, Ind. (Lawrenceburg)
Aamil Wagner, 6-6, 255, Huber Heights, Ohio (Wayne)

Top Targets
Billy Schrauth, 6-5, 280, Fond du Lac, Wis. (St. Mary’s Springs)

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 4-5

Thoughts: With Aamil Wagner committed, it looks like Billy Schrauth or bust for Notre Dame taking a fifth offensive lineman in the 2022 class. Schrauth will make his decision between Notre Dame and Wisconsin soon. It's futile to try and guess at this point where Schrauth will end up as he's been back and forth between the two schools. We will just have to wait and see in December. I personally still like Notre Dame to land him.

DEFENSIVE END
Commits
Tyson Ford, 6-6, 250, St. Louis (John Burroughs School)
Aiden Gobaira, 6-5, 225, Chantilly, Va. (Chantilly)

Top Targets
Anthony Lucas, 6-5, 285, Scottsdale, Ariz. (Chaparral)

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 2-3

Thoughts: You never know what Mike Elston has up his sleeve, but it seems like Notre Dame will likely just sign Tyson Ford and Aiden Gobaira at defensive end. Notre Dame would love nothing more than to add Anthony Lucas, but the chances of that seem to be dwindling.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE
Commits
Donovan Hinish, 6-2, 270, Pittsburgh (Central Catholic)

Top Targets
Hero Kanu, 6-5, 293, Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. (Catholic)

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 1-2

Thoughts: It also seems likely Notre Dame signs just Donovan Hinish at defensive tackle. Hero Kanu is leaning towards Ohio State or Oklahoma.

LINEBACKER
Commits
Joshua Burnham, 6-3, 200, Traverse City, Mich. (Traverse City Central)
Jaylen Sneed, 6-1, 207, Hilton Head, S.C. (Hilton Head)
Niuafe Tuihalamaka, 6-3, 230, Mission Hills, Calif. (Bishop Alemany)
Nolan Ziegler, 6-4, 205, Grand Rapids, Mich. (Catholic Central)

Top Targets
None.

Other Players To Know
None.

Projected take: 4

Thoughts: Linebacker recruiting should be finished with four commitments. Notre Dame needs to make sure to keep Niuafe Tuihalamaka solid considering USC's new head coach will likely go after him hard in December, but the Irish should be fine there.

DEFENSIVE BACKS
Commits
Jaden Mickey, 5-11, 165, Corona, Calif. (Centennial) (CB)
Jayden Bellamy, 6-1, 175, Oradell, N.J. (Bergen Catholic) (CB/S)
Devin Moore, 6-3, 182, Naples, Fla. (Naples) (CB/S)
Benjamin Morrison, 6-0, 172, Phoenix (Brophy Prep) (CB)

Top Targets
Xavier Nwankpa, 6-2, 185, Pleasant Hill, Iowa (Southeast Polk) (S)

Other Players To Know
Croix Stewart, 6-2, 185, Benicia, Calif. (Bencia) (S)
Khamauri Rogers, 6-1, 160, Lexington, Miss. (Holmes County) (CB)

Projected take
: 4-5

Thoughts: There is some level of concern with Devin Moore with Alabama heating up their pursuit of him based on what I'm hearing. He hasn't taken an official visit there, so it will certainly be worth watching in December if that happens. Regardless of Moore's status, I believe Notre Dame will take an additional defensive back in the 2022 class. Xavier Nwankpa is obviously the No. 1 target, but he is most likely headed to Iowa Croix Stewart a UCLA commit, is probably going to receive an offer from Notre Dame some time in the near future, and safeties coach Chris O'Leary is going to have an in-home visit with him from what I hear. I would also not be surprised in the slightest if Notre Dame adds a graduate transfer safety in the offseason.
