Any word on Kizer.

Kizer coming back is good for depth at the position no matter who starts. I like Kizer. Hope he comes back. I just heard about Holmes. Hope he gets more playing time in his fifth year.

I suspect I'm in the minority on this, albeit conflicted. Kizer has great measurables and a high upside, and his experience is a valued asset. Frankly, I don't think he showed much improvement in his areas of weakness from his first season as the starter, i.e... accuracy with passes out of the backfield of in the flats, excessive time to go through his progressions, the amount of time he takes to pull the trigger, and red zone passing. His long ball and running and overall gutsy efforts are noteworthy. That said, I have been reading for two years how talented Wimbush is, and I'm anxious to see him play. But, I sure don't want to see another Kelly fiasco of having an open competition with equal reps for each all Spring and summer, until one magically emerges and the other is a forgotten man on the bench. I prefer a fresh beginning with Wimbush, and hope Kizer gets a high draft number and the financial rewards that come with it, and Success on the field on Sundays.

The focus will be on next season at some point. Who do we hire at defensive coordinator? Will Kizer return or go pro? Do we replace Scott Booker? Any other staff changes necessary? How does recruiting shape up?

Kizer's experience is valuable and I think he needs more of it. Wimbush may be talented but has very little game experience. Wimbush's backup is a true freshman I think. If Kizer was ready for the pros I say go but i think he is too inconsistent.

The ND Titanic is taking on water. Sooner or later they will run out of life vests. This is really going to be interesting to watch. Someone make sure Swarbrick has a good seat to "evaluate" his work.

Sawbrick will make sure he has a life boat for himself. He seems immune to what is really going on.

geez, I hope the hell he goes draft and distances himself from Kelly and ungracious ND fans!

I get the feeling you don't watch ND much. You have that kool-aid drinker feel about you.
I don't see him as a kool-aid drinker. There are none left.

It's all settled that Kelly will be back, so he's trying to have a discussion about what needs to be done to prepare for next season. Strictly talking about reasons for firing Kelly has gotten tiresome and is a moot point for now anyway.

lmao

'if he starts...'

yikes! if he came back, you guys are repeating the same stupid thinking?

Mock drafts have the kid a Top 5 draft! but holy crap! He cannot start for a 4-8 Kelly coached disaster of a team! See this is the thought process that feeds the impression that ND fans are moronic delusional bizzaro unsophisticated ....

Until Kizer opts for the draft it is still topic for off season discussion. He would start over Wimbush if he returns. No matter how talented the other QB's are the position will be a question mark entering the season if Kizer declares for the draft.

Any info on if he is leaning towards going pro or coming back? Wimbush is talented but it would be good to have experience at QB next year.

I doubt you hear anything from Kizer until January -- I do not think their NFL evaluations have even come back yet.

I second that emotion

think as long as he is in the first 3 rounds he will leave.
He definitely knows what his weaknesses are..unfortunately they won't get fixed here...
especially with this coaching staff....
he could be ready for the NFL say in 2-3 years of learning...

that is unless he gets picks by the Browns...
