It appears that Hoge wants out. From another site. It may already be official.

kids a warrior, he wants to get out there and hit people in earnest.
If the transfer rumor is true, best of luck to him. I hope it works out for him.

And the 40 year plan takes another hit.
BYU is a pretty solid 40 year plan.

Being from Utah, ND gets a lot of intrigue for devoted Mormons. It is prob due to the similar moral foundations and religious background with ND having a major edge in the football column.

That said, you can't turn a Mormon and ND hasn't had much luck. Te'o was clearly worth all the past hastle, although only Badger and Lautua (flirted) come to mind.

I fully anticipated Hoge making a push to be the starting center this year, but everything I've read suggests that Mustipher clearly won the position and that it wasn't even close. Seems like this transfer makes a lot of sense for Both party's. Wish him well.

Also hearing that there is another transfer in the works - should hear today or tomorrow - supposedly this one is going to sting. Please don't be a DL or DB!

I assume that would be Parker Boudreaux

It seems like it's always 1 step forward 2 steps back with ND Football. o_O

In case anyone is wondering (I know most are not) I am still healthy and motivated to begin my career at ND if and when the time comes. Now...I should maybe get that second language course completed....

the drop out rate means we could be at zero by August camp Don't think that will happen cause Kelly works magic with young people;)o_O

If it is indeed a medical condition, then I will not worry or think twice.

But for others who are upset about losing out on starting, how can ND ever succeed without depth? (Talking to you Hoge).

Hoge and Boudreaux leaving . What effect on offensive line? Do we have good backups ?

Hoge was first in line if Mustipher got hurt, but a pretty big drop off in readiness to play significant minutes. There are several options going forward, but a decision should be made soon to get that player a lot of practice. I think Rhuland will get first shot.
I don't think Parker was ever going to play a meaningful role at ND. We all kind of gushed over his name and build and brash attitude coming out of high school, but he's actually damn small for an OL at ND. I think he's 6 1 and at least twenty pounds shy of 300.

Hunter Biven is a key guy if there is an injury. Kramer or Eichenberg are potentially important backups. The two early enrollee lineman have been earning accolades but need to accelerate their development.

Peanuts Vedder better start hitting the weights!

For those that don't know--Peanut Vedder is an all city cornerback at Rock n Roll Highschool in Venice Beach, California. He is Eddie Vedders son and is currently dating "Cranberry" Cass (Momma Casses Grand daughter). He will be a preferred walk on at ND this fall. Rock ! Rock ! Rockin roll Highschool !
