Another brilliant move

And if he hadn't tried it after two bonehead interceptions; you would have been asking why didn't he play MZ? Well wouldn't you??????????????
They were not 2 bonehead INT. The first one the CB made a really great play, he undercut that route beautifully, it was much more a great play by the DB than a poor decision by Kizer. The second was an INT on 4th down, Kizer had no choice but to try and make a throw... any throw.

Also, Kizer is the only chance to win this team has... he's it and now Kelly may very well have destroyed his confidence like he has done with every other QB he's coached at ND

Maybe the trend continues. He blows Wimbush's redshirt and screws him up.

Jurkovic must be doing some serious self reflection this morning!

jmo: he must truly believe that he will actually be playing for a Sanford ND team!
else...he gone!

The second throw was up for grabs and off his back foot. DK over threw and under threw during the game. It was not one of his best performances. Last week you wanted MZ. This week you don't. Was the offense doing anything with DK yesterday? MZ looked unsure and nervous in the pocket and running seemed to be his first option. It was worth a try at this point to play MZ. What was the harm? A non invite to the Depends Bowl? Sorry feelings were hurt. Besides, this offense is supposed to be more than one guy. All 11 has to contribute to be successful. Not happening. Proud of the defense though.

excuse this question, but it is thrown at posters all the time:
isn't the head coach at practices? wth is he doing? is he watching?
if this is the best he can evaluate or concieve then he is just bad at it.
there really is no explanation or support possible for such incredibly inept performance!

all the explanations in the world cannot alter reality: week after weak attempts.

Kelly defies explanation.

I for one hope that Kizer turns pro next year and has a great career. I want this for him, but also for ND. I want to see a fresh start for ND next season, from Coaches to QB and beyond. I want to see what a new set of coaches can do with the talent we return to the OL, with Adams and Williams, and with Wimbush leading the offense. Watching Wisconsin play against Ohio State after watching the ND game offered a stark contrast between an underperforming ND team and a Wisconsin team that plays to its full potential. Hoping for a clean break with MZ and Kizer, and a new beginning with a set of coaches who will have ND players playing to their full potential, which I think is considerable.

pers: Nolan and Reggie Brooks were commenting on the post game show how terrible the two minute offense looked last night. No sense of urgency from the WRs, OL, and even DK. But.....Nolan and Reggie said they have attended at least three practices over the last couple of weeks and the two minute hurry up was working great with BK admonishing the offense to get faster, faster. It's not translating to the field and DK himself seemed like he had all the time in the world. At some point, these players have to start taking responsibility. Fumble in the endzone by Stanford. Nyles my man, fall on the damn ball. You are right there. Again, player responsibility.

yes, but team 7 : same pattern.

these things do not happen to good teams
it just a pattern under the Kelly tenure
winners do not have these discussions times times half a time!

I know pers. I don't have an answer for you my friend. I'm just a fan trying to make some sense of it.

honestly, when hired, I saw Kelly with the kind of attitude to be ever evolving; to grow and change as the game changed, to be a great organizational guy, to know how to delegate, and to be a motivator all while excelling at the P.R.

But...
