Hard to believe nobody posted this yet. Shile we are sulking over Bowen we just landed the #1 all purpose back in the country per rivals to go along with the #7 WR and top 5 QB. ‘24 is shaping up big and most of these kids are vocally ND fan boys, unlike the ‘23 decommits.

Nobody said it was dope. Well, at least not me. Pissed about Bowen is not crashing.

Well by the time next December signing day arrives, he will get an offer from ( insert school) for 3 million NIL deal and decommit from ND. Commits mean absolutely nothing. Zero ! Until they actually sign. But even then they could transfer. The entire recruiting system is a total joke. What’s next ? Going to class is interfering with football so the players won’t have to go to classes anymore ? I’m joking of course but then again I wouldn’t be surprised if that actually happened.

I’m jaded anymore. The NIL is one thing. But now with the transfer portal , you could bring in a top ranked class one year and in a year or two half of those kids could leave for another school. So in reality, recruiting rankings mean nothing anymore. At least that’s how it looks to me.

USC is a problem for us and many. They don’t need to develop kids. Just steel kids. Riley doesn’t have to be a good coach.

That said, I think NDs advantage is keeping kids for 4 years bc they understand the value of the degree once on campus. A bigger headache for ND might be that not enough under achieving kids will leave and they can’t take dummies in the portal.
