All Things Skunkbear

Maryland proving that having a good QB and receivers is the most important part of college football. I wish we had this Maryland QB

Michigan reminds me of ND the past few years. They’ll win all their easy ass games and lose 50-14 when they squeak into the playoffs.

Michigan is good this year. They're not Alabama/Georgia good, but possibly playoff good. Oklahoma losing again, losing their coach was a big hit. Kentucky losing too.

Guessing they’ll pull it out like usual, but 10-10 in the third vs the Big Tens worst pass defense.

we sometimes forgetthat these are kids, prone to extreme highs and lows! week after week pressures take a toll!

IMO why would he take the Denver job with no first round draft picks for the next what 2 or 3 years and a short QB you are locked into for many years? Indy would be a much better job minus a QB but there are a lot of QBs who will be coming available this off season.

Agree, why jump onto a sinking ship ?

He must really be unhappy in college to be looking at the NFL every single year when his job security at Michigan is about 100%.

It's particularly bad because he knows this looking around demolished his 2023 recruiting class. There's no reason to be optimistic for their 2024 recruiting class now that he's trying to leave again. I hope he bolts because it would be bad timing and a bad year for Michigan to lose him. They'd likely have to settle for leftovers and/or promote from within. The two best coaches available (Fickell and Rhule) are already signed, sealed, delivered.

If he leaves on Monday for the NFL, who in the world would they get? I’m guess someone on staff.

It won’t be long until Freeman is the head coach of Ohio State. If Day loses 4-5 straight against Michigan and is getting out-recruited it’s over for him.

Correct. Unless freeman goes 9-3 again. Then I think they’d go after Fickell.

ND will then likely hire Rees or make some crazy woke hire. Either way, it’ll be about saving money.

Hartline way before Marcus. Doesn’t mf have to prove he can do more then just recruit?

Hartline isn’t black and hasn’t been a head coach. If Hartman gets ND to 10-11 wins, the perception will be that Freeman had something to do with that and Ohio State will be all over him. Hartline has proven nothing. ND would have a big opportunity and perhaps Rees will be perceived similarly to Lincoln Riley by the time all of this goes down.

If MF went to Ohio State you can kiss ND recruiting goodbye. Who would we hire? Would be a big dilemma.
