This is just the first half, we know how the game ended. I'm allowing myself to be tortured by this to ensure people get their blinders off and realize, there's a good chance we're starting a corner this year that isn't very good.
1 minute mark - makes bonehead mistake and over commits to smith going in motion, and completely loses him. Absolutely terrible
1:30 mark - smoked by tate
1:55 goes wayyy too deep in zone coverage then gets run over
3:10 smoked by tate
3:25 - scared of smith and plays insane off coverage
So in the first half, he wasn't even close to making a play on the ball and targeted at least 5 times.
We are watching by far the best WR core in college football....no one can really shut those guys down ( except michigan somehow) wish we had Morrison that game
Man to man is going to be a issue against them at moments....Texas has some success with cover 2.
Overall it was a phenomenal year for the irish. Couple playmakers away from winning it all.

People think we're going to have the 2 best corners but forget when we played 2 really good passing offenses he got scorched.
Absolutely, but you need to win A BATTLE at corner. He didn't vs OSU and he won 1 vs USC (albeit a big one).
He looked rattled the entire game vs OSU IMO. He knew he was going to get tested, and he wasn't confident.

I didn’t see anyone saying we’d have the 2 best corners nor did I get the impression they were even thinking it. Not sure why you have that impression tbh. Gray is not a bad corner though. He definitely had some struggles, but he played very well a majority of the year.
Exactly. He's a solid player and would start at many Power 4 schools. ND is not going to have the best player in the country at every single position.
Gray has looked weak compared to Morrison and Moore, and he is targeted a whole lot more as a result. I agree he is solid and would start at many Power 4 schools, but I’m hoping this is the year he takes his game to another level. I don’t agree with Nasty that he is terrible, but there’s no denying he has looked terrible too many plays. If he could just develop the skill and timing to instinctively turn to track the ball and breakup more passes, he would elevate his game considerably.
