3 years from now who had the best hire?

Eddie O did not hand it over the offense because of humility. He handed the offense over because he was at best a D Line coach and was clueless. Brian Kelly knows the offensive side of the ball, so he would have not handed over anything. Good or bad that is the truth.
Recognizing your faults and leaning on those who are better equipped is the definition of humility bud.

If Kelly got in Joe Brady’s way that team likely doesn’t go undefeated.

I think Ed Orgeron can look back and smile at his time at LSU. He never should have been hired in the first place, but because he was such a lovable, gruff-voiced, native Louisianan and genuine cajun, they decided to install him as a jovial frontman, and the boosters would spare no expense to provide the best assistant coaches money can buy, and they'd do most of the real coaching.

Which is exactly what happened....

And they managed to produce during his tenure one of the great CFB teams of all time. And Ed Orgeron is now a national-championship winning coach. And no one can take that away from him.

I think it worked out great for both Big O and LSU. And they quickly cut ties because they already got a championship, and so why drag it out? They want more championships! Mission accomplished as far as Orgeron goes...

And a repeat of what happened with Coach O is kind of what I'm expecting with BK. And I figure LSU is thinking the same thing. Difference being BK actually is a totally good HC, and if you provide someone like him with top assistants and everything money can buy to set up a CFB program for success, that maybe they can turn the same trick twice, only BK will provide a much more substantive framework, and blueprint for success than Ed Orgeron. He's more than a frontman.

So good luck to BK. If LSU wants to pay for all your shit and hire all your coaches, let them do it....

Yeah, that's very true. Ed Orgeron did not get in Joe Brady's way. He was a pure figurehead. And now a national-championship winning coach. Worked like a charm!

But I'm literally LOLing at BK haters so desperate to keep stabbing the knife, that you are taking potshots at BK, LSU'S new coach, for hypothetically getting in the way of a wonky young coach like Joe Brady's fancy state-of-the-art offense, and screwing up the whole master plan.

And so what will you do without BK to kick around anymore?? It really is something for the haters to consider moving forward.... You're going to need a new whipping boy, a new scapegoat. You're all elated and exhilarated now, but it won't last...

That will be fascinating to see how that plays out....

We should have been ready then
You might not understand how hard it is to win. It’s not easy to replace 12 stars. To have a 10-0 regular season and to come back and have an 11-1 regular season is unheard of when you aren’t loaded with 5 stars. BK and the coaching staff did a phenomenal job this year

Kelly will be shown the door by year 3. LSU is expecting a championship contender in 2 years. That won’t happen.

SC: Riley is walking into a mess! I believe he can turn it back into a championship contender but not in 3 years.

ND: Out of the 3, ND is in the best shape. Freeman will have a championship within 3 years! He will bring in that next level elite talent ND has wanted.
.....this has aged nicely.....

Lanning and Freeman are clearly the top 2 from that year

Riley, Kelly, Venables all need a big year 4 to stay at their jobs.

Lincoln Riley is owed around 78 million for a buyout after 2025.

Then, you have to pay 120 million for the next head coach at USC.

Good luck firing Lincoln Riley.
