247Sports: Notre Dame Is An Overrated Team Heading Into 2023

And as I see it, that's to ND's credit.

I'm waiting eagerly to see what SCOTUS does with affirmative action.

I've never believed it's constitutional.

But, of course, it won't affect which football players get offered. That's a TOTALLY MERIT-BASED system as the schools themselves are DIRECT BENEFICIARIES.

And if you're argument is correct - and you've certainly documented it -- ND plays THAT merit game as well.

Where it loses, I'd argue, is in terms of the academic RIGOR required once someone is IN. For a lot of standout recruits with the NFL clearly in their sights, it's either a) a bridge too far or b) simply completely UNNECESSARY.

Anyway, "you fight with the army you've brought."
Ridiculous they’re even “deciding”. There’s precedent in that. They already decided that it’s revere racism in the 80’s. Which it is. I love our SC and ACB, ND grad and law prof. I hope they flat out start blowing this era up. We’ve had some major SC eras via the Warren and Burger courts. Time to make POTUS your biatch and show what the constitution is made of. They’re hands down the most powerful branch if they feel like wielding that power.

We have not won a big bowl game since the Cotton Bowl in 1994.
Which causes me to ask, what was the point spread heading into each ”big” bowl game ?

From Vegas’s perspective, what “big” bowl games were we expected to win ?

Here are some things I found and I’m using the season instead of year in which the bowl game was played.

2000: #5Oregon State -3.5 v #10 ND
2005: #4 OSU v #6 ND
2006: #4 LSU -8.5 v #11 ND
2012: Bama -10
2015: OSU -6.5
2018: Clemson -11
2020: Bama -20ish

I dont think we covered the spread on any of those games?

It’s not a question of whether ND covered the spread, the issue is, was ND the underdog and expected to lose the bowl game ?

That was your question. Not mine
Then your question deviated from the critical issue, which was, ND’s loss record in Bowl games.

Hence the question, in what Bowl games were they favored ?

If ND was not favored, why would there be an unrealistic expectation that they should have won more Bowl games ?

The question was what was NDs record in big bowl games since 94

You deviated from the question by asking which game we were favored in.

Since we all know, those are the only games you win, right?

It’s not a deviation, it’s a material factor in terms of expectations and criticisms, you’re just too obtuse to understand that

0 for the last 7. Unacceptable. Win a game as an underdog. This needs to change

Everybody agrees with that theory, but winning a game when you’re a significant underdog is a heavy lift and an unreasonable expectation, especially with an inexperienced coaching staff.

Yes, prejudice and bias are verboten in any and all directions.

There is no COMPULSORY COMPENSATORY EQUITY provision in any of our government documents.

Madison didn't even like the idea of PARTIES -- FACTIONS he called them -- let alone IDEOLOGIES.

If it's not about MERIT, I'm not interested.

What would EQUITY ENFORCEMENT look like in sports?

A JOKE.
