Could Jagusah start as a true freshman? A lot of ND experts are incredibly high on him. We’ll have 2 spots open on the OL….,

I doubt it, I think Billy will lock one spot and Rocco va kristofic for the other

I doubt it. Schrauth is going to lock up one spot I think.

And it's going to be a Kristofic v Spindler and possibly v Carmody and Chan as well

What happened to Rocco Spindler? I thought he was supposed to be a phenom on the OL, destined to start as a true frosh, and we haven't heard his name yet. So let's focus on getting ex-OL prodigy Rocco Spindler in the lineup first, then we'll see about Jagusah...

I think Jagusah is best fit at tackle, and our so called openings are at guard. Personally, I would hope we enter the Spring with only two assured starters, Alt and Fischer; and I know it‘s heresy on this board to suggest it, but I think Fischer Should be considered for Left guard Next to Alt, IF, we have another tackle among our five best OL. We have Wagner and Baker and Carmody, et Al … that were very highly rated recruits who have gained weight and strength and are ready to compete, and I think these guys are more suited for tackle than guard, and I think Fischer has the ability to play either at a very high level. Again, not advocating Fischer be moved, but advocating this be considered if another tackle emerges among our best five OL.

An OL from left to right of Alt and Fischer and Kristofic and Schrauth and Wagner for example is intriguing; but so is Alt and Schrauth and Kristofic and Spindler and Fischer. But to the OP, hard to see Jagusah having Any shot at starting unless Fischer is in fact moved to left guard, and then he would be competing with Wagner and Baker and Carmody, etc… for RT. As always, fun to talk about, but I expect we’ll plug in Alt and Zeke and Fischer at their current starting positions and Schrauth will win the starting LG and the only real competition will be for RG.

The only way Fisher moves to guard is if Baker turns into a stud at tackle. Fisher is the only tackle that can excel at both with Alt Baker and himself.

The way everyone talks about Schrauth it would seem he will be starting next year.

So you can have a

Alt Scrauth Zeke ? Fisher

Or a

Alt Fisher Zeke Schrauth Baker

Couldn't agree more. Fisher at left guard would not only benefit the team but the young man himself. Way more likely to be a guard at the next level than a right tackle. Can't wait to see Schrauth and Wagner.

Is there any indication that Wagner has gained necessary weight/strength to play next year? Or they think it’s possible over next 9 months?

What I figured…. Hainsey was undersized especially as frosh for tackle but it’s rare
Wagner came in at 258. He'd have to put on over 30 pounds in a year and remain functional. If he could get up to 295 by his junior year he can challenge for a starting tackle spot

OL talk is damn fun.

Sounds like Jagusah’s time will come in 24.

Maybe see Jagusah and Wagner at Tackle(s). Schrauth at G, along with Rocco.

We’ll need a Center: Coogan, Otting, or maybe Kristofic, if he’s still around.

Could still be Zeke Correll in 24

I don’t think anyone here has a handle on Wagner’s weight and strength gain since he enrolled. The ND roster lists him at 268. Have no idea if this is accurate today. If Wagner reports to Spring practice around this weight, then concerns about whether he could add good weight to his frame were legitimate, and I don’t think he will compete for starter next season. If he comes into Spring anywhere close to 290, I think he has a legitimate shot.
