2019 DT Jacob Lacey commit

Should finish as a top 100 player. Hopefully he is still growing as listed at 6'2" but as we know likely not accurate.

a top ten rated DT by most recruiting services and was wanted by several big time schools including Clemson amongst other acc schools and some sec schools. Michigan wanted him really badly and was supposed be at the BBQ event that they put on for recruits. always nice to beat Michigan for a player that Harbaugh and staff wanted really badly

Jacob Lacey - "I appreciate how Coach Kelly spoke to me and my family every time we were up there."

Just saying... his competition was JV like based on hudl. Not saying he isn't a very good D tackle but would like to see him against elite competition

Really? Well your concerns, wth all due respect, crack m up. Clemson, PSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville and Notre Dame all wanted him - but you have concerns.....ok. To each their own.

He is not top 10, he is top 3.

Clemson & Michigan were all over him.

He is elite. Very fast off the ball & very, very intelligent.

He is a difference maker at DT.

According to non-bias recruiting services, he is a HUGE get for ND.

Cmon now... did I say anything unnecessarily negative? You watch the hudl and tell me how you think his competition is... did not say a thing about his talent or ability. I would take the kid 10/10 times and was just as excited as the next guy to have him aboard. He clearly was not facing elite linemen tho and it would be cool to see him at the opening or an all American game. Wouldn't be surprised if he transfers to a power house either

The coaching staff has seen him against elite lineman at camps. Much more elite than you would see at a HS game. The good thing about lineman at camps is they actually put pads on & hit. So they have seen him in real action against elite lineman.

composite#9 could go up or down as the '19 prospects are continually evaluated.

DT is not a position ND has had much success with recent sessions so this is a good follow up to J.A.

the wildcats and cardinals have two of the top ten rated d-line guys In the nation in the 2019 class at home but both decided to leave the state Saturday. our irish got lacey and Michigan picked up a top five nationally rated DE in Stephen Herron. the BBQ must've been good in ann arbor saturday

Actually, the BBQ did not go as planned.
The UM fans are mad because they had a lot of no-shows & only had one uncommitted kid from the 2018 class show. Four in total.
Simon & Lacey (now both ND commits) were supposed to show, both cancelled. Ademilola twins, Franklin, Ovie, were all extended invites in the past but not expected to show after verballing to ND. Two other kids that were supposed to show cancelled also (one committed to MSU the other to WSU).
They had more cancellations than uncommitted recruits.

They also may have gotten commitments from ND's top DE prospect in 2019, George Karlaftis (a kid from Ft. Wayne) and one it's top OL prospects, Trevor Keegan, a massive offensive tackles from Illinois. Karlaftis, paired with Stephon Herron who juet commited there this week, is an excellent 2019 haul. They are putting together a really good eqrly group of recruits in 2019. They'll likely also pull Cam McGrone tomorrow, who is an excellent linebacker that I wish ND had in their class.

Michigan will be just fine.[/QUOTE]

[I was worried that they were going to get a verbal tonight from top rated 2019 QB JT Daniels from CA but thankfully he chose to stay home and picked usc over the wolverines, the huskies and one other west coast school. really don't want to see him at usc either but rather them getting him than Harbaugh and staff

a nationally rated recruit at a position sorely lacking ? where do i sign up?

I asked Coach D & the others about McGrone or Lamb & they said it wasn't close, Lamb all day. So I'm not too worried about McGrone at all since we have three LBs better than him in this class (Lamb, Simon, Baeur) & a possible 4th in Ovie hits his potential. Next year is a big Oline year (this year is considered a down year nationally) & ND already is ahead on some top guys for 2019 on Oline. Oline also isn't something I'm worried about. UM missed out on Daniels who they all but thought they had locked, even wrote up articles on it. Karlaftis is still visiting ND & his situation literally changes daily. His recruitment, regardless of if he verbals, will go to the end.
According to the national recruiting analysis there is a lot of buzz around ND currently with Elko, Polian, Long doing a lot more than the previous staff.
On the 11th an Austin commit will put ND in the top 5 nationally for 2018. According to the recruiting insiders a few more 2019 kids are expected to commit too before the season, which would give ND a great start to 2019 as well.

There are plenty of delusional fans and posts on this board but none more so than this. I haven't heard of a single UM fan who is "mad" about the BBQ. Most everyone is elated with a weekend that yielded two 4* and one 5* players. While JT Daniels would've been a nice get, nobody is remotely concerned about Harbaugh's ability to land a 2019 QB. Have you seen the depth of UM at the QB position? Hell, McCaffrey might not get a sniff for 3 yrs as it is. So rather than worry about Michigan, I'd be far more concerned about hanging on to the recruits ND has committed (like Simon) after yet another lousy season.

If that stiff Speigt is the starting qb, I would not be raving about the position. Immobile QB's who can't throw it in the ocean aren't even going to do well in big 10.

Have you been on their insiders board? Or ours? There are multiple copied & pasted threads of UM insiders who are not happy.

You can call me delusional, I can call you uninformed & clueless, doesn't matter, you haven't seen what the actual people within the program are saying, because you can't see it.

As for Simon, he is ND all the way. Has nothing to do with records. Go read his interviews going back a year.

You should worry less about ND & more about what was said about Harbaugh by his peers. "He takes trips overseas to shift the focus away from him never being able to beat Urban Meyer & the fact he will never win a Big10 title."
Ouch.
