2016 Win/Lose Game by Game

This has probably been done 100 times already in the off season but we are less than 2 months away so why not. Here are my predictions.

Texas-Win-Won't be as easy as last year but they get a double digit win here.

Nevada-Win-This one will be easy.

MSU-Win-I see the Irish making a statement here with a double digit win.

Duke-Win-Closer than expected after a bit of a hangover from a big MSU victory.

Syracuse-Win-Another easy one

NC St-Loss-Just have a feeling about this game. NC St plays tough competition well at home.

Stanford-Win-The Irish bounce back with a quality win here to make the loss to NC St not sting as much and get back in the playoff discussion..

Miami-Win-I feel the score in this one will be closer than the game was played.

Navy-Win-Easy victory although they usually are anything but.

Army-Win-Complete blowout

VT-Win-A nice comfortable senior day victory.

USC-Loss-Heartbreak at the hands of the Trojans in a close game that could go either way to bounce ND out of the playoffs.

Hoping this is the magical year I've been waiting a long time for. I was only eight when they last won a NC and don't have many memories of that season. I just want one NC in my lifetime (that I will remember every game from) for the team that's always been #1 in my book!!! Go Irish!!!

I am looking forward to it and I may drop into SB for it if my work schedule work permits. My Septembers are busy but I'd love to see it. Since our games aren't annual anymore I'd like to catch this one at ND because it might be awhile before I get the next chance.

I feel this years team will matchup well vs MSU.

During the Kelly era, as with Davie, Willingham and Weis, I just can't pencil in Ws and Ls and more ... I enter every game nervous, never knowing which ND team will show up to play.

Hope this season is good though.

with some key players having to be replaced like our starting wrs and smith at lb It'll be hard to predict a win/loss record until after the msu game and so i'll wait until then

I always predict 12-0 because there is usually one or two teams that have the talent ND has on their roster. And, I am hopeful that ND will win those games. I believe SC is the only team that has the talent ND has and believe ND has better coaching in place. So, I will predict 12-0 with a championship this year.

Probably because Kelly is 3-1 against Dantonio while at ND, and it's a home game early in the season against a fairly inexperienced qb. I can't explain why Kelly seems to have the upper hand in that matchup, because I think Dantonio is a great coach, but he does.

Perse, the floor as in, that's the worst you could see us finish? Or that's the worst that they "should" finish?

Honestly I see the floor as 7-5. That's if we suffer a lot of injuries (again) and our defense is a sieve.

Oh, I agree with everything you said. There should never be any excuse to go 7-5 in a season deep into a tenure as ND head coach, but I could possibly see it if a worst case scenario plays out.

My mind says 9-3, my heart says 11-1. Our defense scares the hell out of me.

Great players coupled with outstanding coaching, a few breaks and fewer injuries than 2015 and the Irish will be 12-0!

I'm hoping most of you are wrong on your predictions. I don't see this team no worse than 10-3. ND has an excellent QB, a stable of fine running backs, a promising group of tight ends and wide receivers, and a strong offensive line. The defense is filled with promising talent that must develop during summer and fall workouts. It's important to remember that every team we face have challenges too. Most of them are looking for a quarterback. The only thing I worry about is another rash of season ending injuries like the last two seasons. I don't think a person can properly evaluate the defense with so many season and career ending injuries happening on a annual basis. JMHUO.

BVG is the weakest link until he demonstrates otherwise. I hope both QB's get into the action this autumn. Go Irish.

well obviously I agree re BVG, but I think that Kelly has him on a short leash and will see that he gives him plenty of help and welcomes the other coordinators input to figure out how to put a defense out there that at minimum looks like they practice together!

I understand what you say about NC State BUT if we lose to them we clearly do not belong in the NC / playoff conversation I see us beating every team Should not have a loss BUT then, we always manage to disappoint because Kelly does not game plan well FOR EVERY GAME getting better, not there yet
