10-2 Irish better than 12-0 Iowa?

they beat #13 NU by 30 and #25 Wisconsin on the road. And they also lost to NO ONE. Sure beats NDs signature wins of Temple on a "neutral" field, Navy at home, and USC at home.

ND's strength of schedule is ranked considerably more difficult than Iowa's. A lot of teams would have gone undefeated with Iowa's schedule. Impressed with beating a Wisconsin team with a first year coach? Seriously? You obviously are biased and have a higher opinion of a Big Ten schedule than most do. Why don't you learn something about the game first, worry less about ND, and spend your time worrying about your woeful Boilermakers?

Surely you boys can still justify getting in over Iowa, right? Quality losses are not easy to come by.

Good luck at the Sun bowl!!!

here's the thing: the system still has flaws and always will have flaws. I have no doubt that a 1-loss Ohio State is a far better team than 0 loss Iowa or Clemson. I have no doubt that a 2-loss Notre Dame or Stanford is better than 1 loss North Carolina. I have no doubt that a 3 loss Michigan or Ole Miss is better than 2-loss Oklahoma State. It's an imperfect system and it ain't changing anytime soon.

Who did you just play? Who have they lost to? This isn't 10 years ago.

It's easy to say "I'd like to play Iowa in a bowl game", but the fact is that you aren't good enough to have a chance this year. That allows you to brag since you know it won't happen.

By the way, what good teams did ND beat this year?
We beat Pitt easily. How about you?

No, we'll see you in the sun bowl. You'll see us in the playoffs! Again, who did ND beat this year?
We beat #20, #22 and #24. You beat #16 and #25. Those were the best teams you played. We played #1 and #7, which is why our SOS is light years better than yours. Why are we having this discussion? Aren't you content enough at 12-0?

Does everyone in this thread realize it's VERY POSSIBLE that Notre Dame ends up playing Iowa in the Fiesta Bowl?

This might be ND's most likely bowl match up at the moment

Michigan State in the playoffs (after beating Iowa in the BTCG)
Ohio State in the Rose Bowl (highest ranked, non-playoff BT team)
Iowa in the Fiesta Bowl (highly ranked team that travels well and will be attractive to the committee and bowl itself)

Notre Dame is very likely to end up in the Fiesta Bowl as well...as an 'at large'

Honestly, I almost expect ND and Iowa to play each other in a bowl game at this point

Catholic envy -- sad

Apparantly quality losses are easier for ND to come by than quality wins are for Iowa.

Rose bowl will eyes on Stanford. If Iowa lost to MSU then Iowa may head to Rose bowl.

Nope. Strong vibes already that if Stanford wins the PAC, they'll face the Buckeyes in the Rose !
