I don't see a repeat of the Nebraska fiasco.

Georgia is a great opponent and the buzz around the stadium renovations will still be at a fever pitch. I don't see very many people giving up their tickets - even for top dollar.

Of course - a terrible showing against Temple could change everything.

Georgia fans are rabid, will buy tickets at premium pricing and travel in droves. I don't see the Nebraska level but there will be plenty of red, unfortunately. Seen it too many times in South Bend.

Plenty of red, but not overwhelming. That's not a problem for the Irish.

And as I said, with the stadium renovations plus the new videoboard, it will be hard for ND fans to give up their tix. No matter the opponent, everyone will want to check out the new stadium amenities. Tix will be hard to come by for opponents.

Interesting. Don't go there to watch the game. Go there to check out all the cool new stuff.

are cutoffs same as jorts?

Yes, around these parts jorts are just cutoffs, though I've gotten the impression that south of the Mason-Dixon the wearing of jorts to a football game is a fashion faux pa.

jorts
/jôrts/
noun
NORTH AMERICANinformal
  1. shorts made of denim fabric.
"turn all your jeans into jorts"

They just want to see the helmet game get played on the big screen. Remember you promising that would happen if it was built.

Exactly. Why pay attention to the game, when you can watch replays of any action you may have missed while tweeting or snap-chatting selfies of you and all your rowdy friends during the game? The upgraded bandwidth inside the stadium will pretty much guarantee this happens. Over and over and over again.

Of course, there's always the shiny, new climate-controlled suites for the creaky-kneed old timers. Complete with heated, reclining seats for those cool late-August games. I hear they'll even supply blankets or a nice afghan for those that want one.

Skycams are also getting software updates to allow for quick Kiss-Cam action shots between plays. All in glorious high definition.

I don't trust some in the ND fan base not to sell their tickets and they will. They will just check out the video board another time. Bet you any money there will be more than old timers sitting in the suites. Remember, those old timers were out in the elements, sitting in the stands, long before this rage against old timers came into play. They have paid their dues. I sat in the prime Harris Bank suite at The Cell or whatever is was called back when I was in my early 50s and I loved it. Great view. Great food. Great drinks. Private parking. Private bathroom. I also sat in the 2nd floor private party area or whatever they call it for an Irish basketball game. Great view. Great food. Great drinks.

Wait -- I thought the Kiss-Cam was going to be showcased and 78 was going to be the 1st participant! LOL

I understand that Georgia fans can be used as a punchline, but, I look at these selected pics as blue collar fans. The ones who do the heavy lifting. Brick layers, pipe fitters, road construction, waitresses, mechanics. As a lifelong worker who has paid his dues in the refineries and steel mills of NW Indiana, I get these fans. I never even looked at a GQ magazine before. IMHO, if you are cool, then I will tailgate with you. With that said, Irish fans must not sell their tix to Georgia fans. It should not even be a thought. It will be incredibly embarrassing for a national prime time TV audience to see a sea of red in ND Stadium.

I fully expect that there will be at least 15,000 UGA fans inside the stadium for the game. There are a lot of ND fans (and even alums) who want to see Kelly fail.

You are right and that is very sad. Look no farther then this message board.

I have a block of tickets and if I want to sale them or give them away that is my business not yours,,,,,,

The only block you have is between your ears.

FYI---you don't "sale" something, you "sell" something, you dope.

You told me you sold your MSU tickets last year to a Spartan Fan. OK for you to do not me...

Neither do I. I was pumped but watched the game on tv. I called my Dad and asked if he could believe the crowd. As someone who has never been able to get to a game (distance and money) I was pretty mad that our fans sold out. Wish we had won to spite them. Zbikowski was the man that day.

I was driving into South Bend for the game going east bound on the tollway as I always do. About 7AM Chicago time. This trip was different. I was surrounded by vehicles that were obviously Husker fans. The whole one hour trip in was loaded with Husker fans on the tollway. I couldn't believe it. Then the sea of red come game time. It was embarrassing. Over the years, we have had Irish posters who have defended their actions in regards to selling their tickets to Nebraska fans that day. Shame. I don't trust Irish fans. I expect Georgia fans to come in droves. First visit to the tradition laden Notre Dame campus and stadium. Night game. National TV. Yep. They will come and many Irish fans will dutifully comply.

I was at the VA Tech game last fall -- they seemed to be everywhere and were very loud -- that should never happen in ND stadium, regardless of the opponent.

"Zbikowski was the man that day"

If you are talking about Nebraska in 2000 -- Zibby was not even at ND then.
