Notre Dame men's basketball will wrap up its Players Era Festival needing a win to avoid finishing last in this format. The Irish will take on No. 21 Creighton (4-3), who has lost three straight, at 1 p.m. EST in Las Vegas.

The Bluejays have three talented scorers: 7-foot-1 center Ryan Kalkbrenner, who is averaging 18.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3 blocks; 6-2 guard Pop Isaacs, who is averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists; and 6-0 guard Steven Ashworth, who is averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

The Irish will still be without star guard Markus Burton. Fellow sophomore Logan Imes has replaced him in the starting lineup alongside guards Braeden Shrewsberry and Matt Allocco and forwards Tae Davis and Kebba Njie.

Good. There was too much heat for the committee to defy the obvious thing to do. Good for SMU that they came back, and should have taken it to OT, but they effed up the kickoff. But no harm done, and they deserve to be in over Bama, who is 9-3 and not even that strong of a 9-3. They're just not that great this year.

NDs overall ranking is hurt because of special teams in which they are a -1.1.
Overall SP + makes Ohio state the highest power rated team, a field goal ahead of ND on a neutral field. This is as close as 1 and 7 have been probably in years

Notre Dame is the only top 5 team in the country (compared to all teams) on offense and defense.


They rank 3rd among playoff teams in offense and 4th among playoff teams on defense
