It didn’t look like a sound defense to me after the shift. That’s a big one that probably shouldn’t have happened.I'm just going by the fact you don't have KVA or Bowen on the RB when split out in coverage EVER when 3 LBS on the field with no one in the backfield. It happened twice for 125 yds.
Either blown coverage or terrible scheme. For it to happen once let alone twice. Something bad happened both plays, coaching or bust, and bust involves coaching since it happened twice.
AgreeIf he was injured, he had no business playing. Especially after seeing that the kid couldn't throw the ball
Yes, Hartman, Angeli, MInchey, Carr, even Buchner could've made the throw. I don't mean they would've completed the pass. I think they all could've thrown higher and farther than Leonard. That might've been a good call if Hartman had been the QB. He was a good deep ball thrower. But unfortunately, Leonard isn't. But all 3 of our backups are probably better than Leonard at making that throw as well.
So we need to either tailor the offense to Leonard's skills, or put a different QB in. Leonard isn't a good fit for the offense we ran Saturday. He's not a dropback passer.
Define " accepting " ? Are you for benching players after every mistake. You have good plays and bad plays in games as a player. The goal is to win way more than you lose. Unfortunately bad plays that incur penalties are magnified. The staff is accepting repetitive failure from the same players over and over. We have enough depth to pull people. It doesn't have to be a permanent pull, but a " you play like that again, you'll be right back out".
Agree, i'm sure rudolph doesn't coach it that way, but craig was shocked he was flagged and asking what he did. It was obvious.
It's TWO games. Correctable for sure. As a former o lineman myself I'm guessing Craig didn't even realize his hand placement. Happens a lot out in space especially with receivers blocking. The staff is accepting repetitive failure from the same players over and over. We have enough depth to pull people. It doesn't have to be a permanent pull, but a " you play like that again, you'll be right back out".

The second one was certainly a bust by Bowen. He clearly misread the play and lost his coverage. He stays with him an it's likely an incompletion.I'm just going by the fact you don't have KVA or Bowen on the RB when split out in coverage EVER when 3 LBS on the field with no one in the backfield. It doesn't have to be a permanent pull, but a " you play like that again, you'll be right back out".Why is it poor coaching ? If anything it's lazy technique. Craig knows the rules. No one is teaching it that way. Your arguments are nonsensical and suggest coaching is the sole reason they lost. I absolutely guarantee the staff coached last week the exact same way they coached prior to the opener. Programs at the highest level are incredibly structured. Routine is paramount. It's a highly regarded and respected staff. They didn't forget what got them there. They had stinker. It happens.
If that's your take, and i'm fine with that. Why the F was he brought to ND and still playing the 2nd half? It's how he threw last year, he was terrible throwing vs A&M, and terrible vs NIU in the first half?Really ? A guy in his last year of college eligibility needs coached on something so fundamental. You are really showing a true lack of understanding. This isn't junior high. Horrible throw. Solely on the QB. End of story.
The problem is, MF was supposed to bring in amazing talent. Our 25 class is looking like it's going to be a bad Kelly class at best after Deuce decommits. Our roster next year is NOT great. If the team continues to struggle this year, next year probably will be worse. This was the year the stars aligned, we have players and depth everywhere, but it hasn't been developed at a few key positions.I think you are correct honing in on the negatives, as they're egregious.
BK did correct bad losses for the most part. He laid eggs in big situations against better opponents.
Losing to Marshall, Stanford, and NIU is disturbing and a serious regression...my definitive red flag and, therefore, why I consider MF a roll of the dice gone bad. I don't want to fire him.
But I now know MF cannot make ND better. ND has gotten worse with him.
Oh yeah, didn't we totally argue about the Croatian MNT, and it all started because I casually, off the cuff mocked Luke Modric because of how ugly he is, and you didn't like that one bit? I have some vague memory on this message board of doing that. And he totally won the ballon d'or even though he probably shouldn't have, but that's just how admired he is as one of the truly great players of his generation? But he is ugly.
