All Bye Teams 0-4

I think this is a coincidence.

ND vs Georgia is a close 50:50.

Texas was always favored over ASU.

Penn State was always favored over Boise State.

Ohio State is right now a dream team favored even over #1 Oregon.

There are other explanatory factors than a long bye perhaps causing some rust.

Still, that being said...rust can be a margin of difference between 2 close enough teams.

Can we talk about the effin refs?

Because there was a string of calls there, when the game was still very much in doubt and UGA could really use a favorable call, where it was just like, is this for real? Like three or four in a row, that straight up did not look like penalties, all negating very much positive developments for ND. I am not a conspiracy theorist, and I have to fight the inclination to condescend to people who talk like that, but holy shit! Even the first down by Faison when it was pretty much done with under four minutes. But out comes the flag again! This time for some sort of obscure illegal shift, and now it's 4th down.

I got this on the brain on account of yesterday's targeting non call was just so unbelievable. Anyway, it was noteworthy to me and super noticeable.
No doubt. AZ ST got F---cked with the no targeting penalty and ND got some BS penalties that made the game closer than it should have been. F__K the SEC!

I agree, some of those calls seemed questionable

Officially Official Sugar Bowl ND v. UGA Game Thread

But if ND makes it all the way and faces Ohio St. Leonard and the offense better be able to put up more than 23 points, unless the D can hold their high powered offense down.

I can be no other way than the current identity.

Elite D.

Good enough O that has to stay disciplined, especially Denbrock...who still hasn't called an optimal game.

Solid special teams.

X factors; Marcus Freeman has the Irish as tough and inspired as Holtz and coaches of old...he joins them if he pulls this off.

All Bye Teams 0-4

The layoff appears to have hurt all of them
Correlation doesn’t equal causation. Texas jumped all over Arizona State to start the game. Did the layoff hurt Texas there? (Edit: made a mistake here, ASU had the layoff but they still had the game within grasp but gave up a 4th and 13). Nobody thought Boise State deserved the bye.

I think the playoff selection and format is great except Boise getting a massive benefit of the doubt.
