He will not have a perfect season. But I truly believe he will lead ND to a special season. I'm very excited not only by his own skill set, leadership and athleticism. But also by the weapons around him and the line in front of him. Yes, some questions, some serious questions but every school has them.

Golson was a huge loss. Remember, at one point Golson was 17-1 and a leading Heisman candidate. But, the cracks in the facade were there. Every time he ran my sphincter tightened. Cause we all knew the fumblitis he suffered from. Even before the last 6 games. Also on two big passes Golson completed, first to Koyack to beat Stanford, Koyack was open for a long time before Golson found him. But find him he did. Against FSU, Robinson was wide open on the crossing route, the entire route he was WIDE open. But he never saw him till the very end. He made the completion. But damn, it was already dramatic enough, did NOT need to be more dramatic. Then he missed a wide open streaking WR down the seam by 10yds.

This is not a video game, humans have emotions and agendas. Keeping Golson on the roster talent wise would be the best case scenario. But just maybe losing him is addition by subtraction. Intangibles over tangibles.

Looking forward to the season. Let's play some football. And thank God, I'm watching and not playing. Cause I'm a 5*****star arm chair QB!
