Writer Says We Have No Chance...

There was ND Grad, Red Smith -- one of the greatest of all times. Finished his career at the New York Times and wrote four columns a week.

The issue is that I don't think it accurately captured what was in the article. Nowhere did the article state that ND had no chance. It simply handicapped the chances of each team/conference in the playoff race in a way that, in my opinion, is unbiased.
I welcome unbiased opinions. The 'haters' on this site will probably vouch for me. I don't pay much attention to guys that cut a 7-1 ND team out of the prize.

Okay that my heading was a bit of an overstatement, I'll admit, it was a blatant example of the liberal media at it's worst! Sorry... you are right 18, it didn't say that -- it just made it look as hard as it will be...

NY Times Sportswriters??? DIP and 35 will tell you -- how about Red Smith, ND Grad, and one of the greatest of all time! He spend the last years of his life writing four columns a week for the NYT -- never missed a one. A treasure.

No one cut a 7-1 ND team out of the prize. The article didn't state that in the least.

one has to consider that there is a chance that we have no chance, there is a chance.

It could be the Irish tribune and you clowns will still criticize. We don't have a chance. The writer is correct.

The writer is predicting the future. Therefore, one cannot say now whether he is correct or not. Of course, you are too dense to understand that.

but it is possible that ND is in contention
but it is possible that ND has no chance

gotta beat Stanford
hope that clears things up and now, "we can all just not get along!"

guys you are being set against each other for a purpose! control the sideline, control the forum

I put this on the ACC thread but it was buried on page three... Interesting point of diThis NY Times Writer seems to agree with the general thinking (I think it is BS but...) Imagine we win our next three beat a one loss Stanford team and then go on to crush in the ACC championship game.

That would convince them! (But this guy seems to think a one-loss Big Ten team (OSU, MSt, even Iowa) would get in over a one-loss ND team... Same with SEC, Big 12 and Pac 10! (So you see, unless we go undefeated we really have no chance of making the final four.
