Hopefully you're right. A more probable conspiracy theory perhaps, is merely the previous WR coach was awful, and had already burned too many bridges and soured these various players on staying at ND, and they had already made their respective decisions to transfer before old boy was fired, and it was too late to repair the damage and/or disenchantment.

I've been RELENTLESSLY critical of Freeman as a GAME DAY COACH. But I fear his MAJOR FAILING may be as an ADMINSTRATOR.

I'm not sure he knows how to CHOOSE, ACQUIRE and/or MANAGE his lieutenants. If he were a young Medieval king who'd inherited a HIGH-RISK kingdom, he'd at least have a REGENT, CHANCELLOR or ARCHBISHOP to fall back on for guidance and advice.

No such luck in CFB.

But that's what he needs. An experienced, war-time CONSIGLIERI.
