That was the first disappointing game by this team this season. Defense was horrendous. Elko is Clawsons bitch I guess
Not 100% true. Oklahoma will jump up when they win the conference. Wisky still undefeated. 1 loss UGA gets in over us if the loss is Bama. Clemson likely jumps us this week. Nothing is a lock when you do not have a conference championship.
First bad game tackling. But let’s be accurate, we played almost the entire second half keeping their receivers in front of us. We obviously felt the clock was our ally and we played to make them eat up time marching up and down the field. Still a decent, but not impressive win allowing that many yards and that many points, while our offense was damn near unstoppable. Wimbush passing totals would have touched 400 yards today if not for so many drops on long balls, which he facilitated with late slight underthrows.
How is Clemson jumping us when they almost lost to NCST...ya know the team ND destroyed last week.

This was a 3-possession game almost the entire game. The committee is aware of things like that.
so let me get this straight, ND could beat MSU, USC, Miami, Stanford, NC St and have a 1 point loss to Georgia, but the performance against Wake is gonna keep us out?

I think it was a mistake to play no defense, absolutely none, in the 2nd half. People are kidding themselves if they don’t think style points matter. Especially when ND doesn’t play Dec. 2.

Great point! You must really want the 4-seed. Let’s take on Bama in the semifinals and get smoked out for another meaningless season. Seeding matters!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the 2/3. The second half was pathetic today.
Tommy - Does it really matter what seed we are, as long as we get in? You still have to beat a very good team in the semi, regardless.
If someone had told you we'd be in the playoff at the beginning of the year, would you have believed them? Personally, I thought we'd go 9-3. I'll take where we're at.
So we destroy NC State one week and then Clemson struggles to beat them the next, leading to them passing ND?????
As A-A Ron Rodgers once famously said to his fans “R E L A X”... yeah I’m disappointed in the defense today as I’m sure the boys are in their performance but this game was never in question. With MSU winning and NC State playing a close game against Clemson, we aren’t moving anywhere. Take care of business and let the cards play out. An impressive performance next week and the Wake game is a distant memory.
After ND took the lead, the game was never in doubt. This win does not hurt ND. Win and advance!
You continue to show your lack of knowledge on how the playoff system works. Do you really think it is set up by actual ranking. The truth is that the ranking is done to facilitate the semi-final games. ND will not play Georgia in the first game as a re-match. Alabama will also not play Georgia in the semi-final after just playing them in the SEC championship. That leaves the only match-up to be ND and Alabama. Try to keep up.
