Why On Earth Would a Recruit Ever Consider ND!?

I don't dispute that Jack is not a great AD. He has done a lot of great things for ND. He just a mistake on BK's extension is all.
If it costs us every penny of the contract to say goodbye to him I agree. But that may not be the case. We just don't know.

yep, WBB furnished those plush offices! put on all those expansions, and built all those new buildings.

So you think it's not dumb to delay the inevitable? If anyone thinks that Brian Kelly does not want to leave Notre Dame or that he plans on being the future of our program they are part of a small minority.
If BK was going to get fired they should have done it sooner then now. Waiting until after the banquet is problematic at best. If they are still going to fire BK before next season do it now so the new staff can get aligned and start saving the class sooner rather then later.

Funny how everybody who defends either Kelly or Swarbrick is a friend, husband, sister, wife, cabana boy etc.
Why is it so hard to simply realize there are differing opinions from yours.

For the same reasons all the non-sports students choose/chose Notre Dame. If you're a football first kind of guy then Notre Dame probably isn't for you anyway. That said, ND still needs a few of those guys (high 4 stars/ 5stars) with NFL aspirations to make the team playoff competitive. I don't see getting any of those types anytime soon.
You're talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Kelly is 'in home with Sarell' Tues.

So, the #1 prospect in all the land, with unlimited options, including Stanford is going to forego all these great possibilities to come to a lesser academic institution to SU, and a rather unappealing geo area, play for a despicable lame duck head coach, on a chonically underachieving OL (coaching?), and a team that will likely no go anywhere for his entire 4 years! Yep! Sure! Order his Jersey!
The only ND hope is the kid is a damned poor decision maker!

Well, considering the BK is not going anywhere, his top 3 priorities are keeping the class intact, add to it, and get a top line DC.

well, holding together the current list will not improve ND.
and
Adding to it requires recruits to be among the galactically stupid!

I am perplexed how much demand there is out there for the guys on ND's commit list!

ND is vulnerable and no one is coming calling! not even the 'snake'

ND's new top LB target is a guy that got 'cut' off the tOSU list! At thevsame time ND's top LB commit flips to tOSU. If Simmons commits, the posters who don't follow recruiting will shout, "aha!"

The problem with this post is that it implies the players that have remained committed to ND despite the poor season and the lack of change at the head coach spot are "galactically stupid" seems like poor form to be talking shit about kids who want to make ND better, not their fault BK is still the coach.

I don't get it. Should ND fans just give up on FB or at some point do you have to accept BK is the coach and hope for the best? What's the alternative in your world Perse? Someone quote this post so he will read it.

It's not that people don't want what's best for ND. It's quite the opposite. ND deserves great as do the kids that go there. Great players demand great coaches and can see through the smoke and mirrors of recruiting. At the end of the day, kids want to feel welcome, with an inspiring coach that will make them champions. It's about relationships. If you had the choices of Harbaugh, Meyer, Shaw, Dabo, Petersen, etc. would you choose ND?

If people are going to throw the academic card out there then I say choose Duke as they beat ND. Northwestern, they beat ND. Naval Academy beat ND. Stanford beat ND.

The statement that we only want kids that want ND is garbage. Majority of our best players past and present were not ND fans. That is an egotistical and flawed opinion.

Kids want to feel comfortable about their first year away from home with a motivational coach that can mentor good character and championship mentality. You decide if that exists at ND. I know what I'd do if Jim Harbaugh showed up for chain gang. And I hate Michigan. It's about people, not place.

Trey Smith to Tenn.

anyone recall the list of OL prospects that at some time had been CB'd to ND?
anyone recall the list of WR's at some point CB'd to ND?
DB's?
DL?

Well, thinking back, did the prospects have some indications of the internal chaos about to befall ND?
Were the prospects just ahead of the curve?

Thanks guys, the response is going to be "you are just picking on me", "you are a jerk", "you are friends with Bodi", "I am smarter then everyone", " I am the greatest" etc...

Academics is not a great reason to choose ND over Duke, Stanford, Northwestern, or even Michigan (although this is questionable). I love Notre Dame. As a former Domer, I get it. I grew up a fan, spent many weekends on campus, have family who attended, and I hope to send my own kids there. I love the place. However, most kids don't have that connection. They know it's a good academic place, but there are many other options. Kids will go play football at ND when they have all of the above and a coaching staff that wins games and has a positive message for young people. Right now the message portrayed is negative. Who would you want to play for: BK, Shaw, Fleck, Harbaugh, Meyer? BK would be my last choice. He would be my last choice for my kid as a former Domer. Thankfully my kid won't ever be making a football decision.
You lost all creditability when you said "as a former Domer." No ND grad would insult ND like that.

Well Sal, I see your side of your exchanges with Perse, and nothing ever changes in Perseland. Yes, most of us are degusted with Kelly and want to see him gone, yesterday. I still hold on to hopes that the BOT will awake and push him out tomorrow. But as tomorrows turn into yesterdays, most of us will turn our attention to recruiting news and Kelly's DC hire, with hopes the ST and S&C will be opened to new hires as well. Like nearly all here, I want what is best for ND, and I will be pulling for us to keep this recruiting class intact with a few key additions, and I will be pulling for a reinvigorated Kelly to make good personnel decisions, and to lead us to a great season next year. Can't and won't hope for anything less.

Why do you always assume that because some one wants to keep Kelly that they don't care? You act is getting tiring also.
Or if you don't make 50 anti-Kelly posts per day, most saying the same thing over and over again, you must be a "Kelly supporter"? The board is really getting weird.

We have Perse:

-Lobbying for all of our current recruits to back out of their commitments
-Questioning the quality of our current recruits because they have not backed out of their commitments
-Lobbying for our potential NFL draftees to leave ND to come out early

He's basically decided that our program is a running amok falling apart dumpster fire, and is critical of any person who either, doesn't see it that way, including people who are actually in the program, or is not supporting the "falling apart" cause by either leaving the program or not joining the program.

And he's not alone.

We have gone to bizzaro world.

The ignore function is a wonderful thing.

The poster to whom you refer is the kind of thinker that an idiot could talk down to. I've had him my ignore list for ages. Do yourself a favor and do the same.
