Numbers don't lie!
In the last six cycles from 2014-19, Notre Dame has signed only two Rivals five-star players: offensive guard Quenton Nelson (2014) and defensive end Daelin Hayes (2016). Over that same time, Alabama has signed 28, Georgia 19 (a record eight in 2018), Clemson 18, Ohio State 13 and Oklahoma six.
Notre Dame just finished signing another top 10-15 rated recruiting class. This most recent class was loaded with mainly four star talent, however like most years lacked the higher rated difference maker 5 star recruits.
It would be nice if Notre Dame could average two five star recruits per cycle, but to date that seems like an impossible task. Recruiting higher ranked classed and a few 5 Star recruits might be the only thing that prevents Notre Dame archive a higher level of football.
