Which of the QB’s entering the Transfer Portal

I still want Leary, but I don’t think staff is interested. He will likely go to Illinois and be a Heisman candidate. The staff will underestimate him and over estimate someone else like they have with every good QB. The Max Duggan badly wanting to come to ND story yesterday but being undervalued by Rees was painful to read.

Hey Irish Beer, your Tommy Rees bashing has gone on for years now.

Jurkovec '18, McNamara decommit '19, Pyne '20, McCarthy skip for Buchner '21... all adds up. We know your anti criticism makes you a super fan. Congrats on the achievement.

It will be interesting to see if we get someone who has already entered the portal, or a qb from those who enter after their team’s bowl game. I would prefer we go after the best fit that is available right now, and that’s either Card or Leary, and Leary is a high risk high reward option given his pec muscle injury. Frankly, I’d be just as happy if we were to get Pratt out of Tulane, but waiting on an unsure thing while great options like Card go elsewhere is not a good strategy. I would jump at the opportunity to grab Card if he is willing, but we will have interesting and possibly better options if he wants to go elsewhere.

Michael Pratt, Tulane Green Wave

6-foot-2
a 25-5 TD-INT ratio this fall with.
159.7 quarterback rating.

45-28 AAC Championship victory over Central Florida,
394 passing yards, 48 rushing yards and five total touchdowns.

And during the seasons you listed, the program went 44-7 with two CFB Playoff berths. Either this team is coached really really well, or you are overstating.

But this is a new staff, so how can you accuse them of past years mistakes ?

Rees was NOT the OC when Dugan was a high school Senior.
Rees only came to ND as a QB coach in 2017, which I think may have been Duggan’s Senior year in high school, ergo Rees had Minimal, and maybe zero input with regard to Duggan coming to ND.

Stop blaming Rees for everything

Rees stopped talking to him and went for Cade. Then he tried getting Duggan back but hadn’t talked with him in months. Duggan came for a visit, but by that time he had already built a strong bond with TCU. Grew up a ND fan but ND snuffed him for McNamara. Rees was a big part of the snuffing. You can read more on 247. He misses on a lot of these talented guys. Goes all in on the bad one and ends it with everyone else. Nobody’s perfect, but he’s not a good judge of talent. Maybe he finally hit gold with Minchey. I like Minchey a lot.

You do understand that recruiting and the targeting of specific players is a cumulative effort. But then again that sort of knowledge interferes with your obvious agenda.

Irish Beer has had an agenda against Tommy Rees that has lasted many years.

Didn‘t Kelly make the decisions.

Certainly a first year QB coach can‘t usurp the HC’s authority.

Rees didn’t have that decision making authority.

The HC has the ultimate authority

We can add Greyson McCall to this list. Another intriguing potential QB and a really nice fit.

The staff is very interested and has reached out and is working on Leary. Will nil be an issue? Dunno. But he will visit in next week

But.... an elite QB might have mad the 7 number smaller. We will never know.
