Last week I wrote that our best play was from the offensive line, we don't know how good our team was because Texas was so average, our secondary was bad (oh I started a post before the season saying the loss of Crawford was going to be big and people got pissed then as well), we have no pass rush, and Malik looked great throwing because we were able to dominate that team. Some people on this board got bent out of shape because I am realistic and not some lame ass homer like Brodizephax and others tools. I seriously understand why people laugh at our fan base, though I can't even tell if guys like Brodize is even a fan, because so many are delusional.

Anyway my thoughts go out to Malik but there was no way we were winning 10 games with his accuracy issues and our defensive liabilities. Also the entire coaching staff, outside of the offensive line coaches, were terrible today and it will show more as the season continues.

Congrats to the team for hanging in there, especially Kizer for stepping up big and making that play at the end. Again I can't say enough about the offensive line because they are strong and CJ is a legit star in the making, though I think defenses will be loading up 7 men in the box now that Malik is out. Hopefully Kizer becomes a legend, there is nothing I would like more than to be proven wrong and we end up with 10 wins.

Okay so let's hear the critique on todays post since I must not have an idea of what I am talking about. It seems a lot of people want to blame Kelly for everything but he wasn't throwing the ball like a high school senior and he wasn't the one trying to cover their receivers. Virginia will be lucky to win 7 games this season and I guarantee that QB will never have better game than he did today... we basically made him an overnight sensation as usual.

I didn't see your post last week, but yeah, Zaire is done. Its going to be tough to win 10, obviously.

Just like I chastised some for giving up when MZ went down, I disagree.

This team is very good, but played poorly today. Kizer, must man up, but he will, good days ahead.

Monday morning QB over here. I'd rather win every game by a point than lose a game. I could careless about blowing teams out. We lost a lot of talent and it has I only been 2 weeks into the season. Who knows how the rest of the season plays out.

Your reply is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Virginia is a top 60-70 team and they dominated our defense... what do you expect will happen against Georgia Tech, Clemson, and USC? Also how do you know anything about Kizer other than todays game? Also regardless of the QB play, who is going to cover people? Where we getting a pass rush? How many times did EVG blitz 5-6 and couldn't get pressure?

Why don't you go back to whatever Podunk college you came from and then dry up and blow away.

New QB and Offense coach will teach you how to keep win every games.
Many RB's will be key way to beat GA Tech's defense? I not think so because of they put 5-6 on defense line.
ND always have problem with back up defense. Without Zaire ND will be fine but the offense line need to work very hard. I was wonder about who will be back up QB if Big K get hurt. The guy will be next Joe Montana.

Another prime example of what I was talking about... head purely in the sand and little knowledge of the game. Love the "the guy will be next Joe Montana" comment though, pretty funny stuff even if you were being serious o_O

No not really... I mean saying Kizer is the next Joe Montana after watching him play less than 1/2 a game and against an average team is brilliant. Otherwise I have no clue what you wrote, maybe you speak another language so I will give you a break.

As for SAlittleguy, I am not looking for applause but rational thinking. Just because I started a thread being critical and logical about what we could take away from the Texas game didn't mean some on here, probably yourself being one, should get bitter. It is one thing to make a good argument but I just don't understand some of the people on this board, it is almost like it is filled with fake fans pretending to be life long Irish supporters just so they can write ignorant messages. Brodize is the top of the list on that topic.

I've been singing the 8-4 song all summer

With all the significant injuries I'm about ready to start my 7-5 dance

So, you're celebrating that?

Then you're obviously not a Notre Dame fan. Got it.

You know this how? Top 60-70 team?
For all the daggers you are throwing around I think you are the one a bit lost. Top 60-70 team after two games? Furthermore...would you say that Auburn in the least is a top 25 team? How did you like their performance? They won though.
BVG is trying to do too much, too complicated, or just plain horrible strategy...this could be the demise of Notre Dame's season.
But to claim four losses so early in the season is more ignorant than fans predicting 14-0.
Question...in 2012 did anyone at week 2 predict we would run the table and play for the NC. No way. Remember the luck we had that season? The bad games but we escaped.

Let's keep it simple here and 2 down, next one up.

Why is BVGS scheme too complicated for ND players but wasn't too complicated at other places in college?

You can be an Irish fan without drinking all the koolaid spued forth on this board

I celebrate our wins and mourn our losses just like any other fan

I'm particularly happy when the Irish win games they are supposed to lose

Any fan who thinks their team is going to go undefeated every year is unrealistic

If you can't see that this is the same team as last year--minus the starting quarterback, starting center, and now minus the starting running back, and last years back up quarterback--then you just don't get it

Even without Malik....there are at least 6 remaining games that should be gimme's. at this point so id say any where from 8-12 wins is still possible.

10 is probably where id put the over and under at right now...ok 9.5 but even without Malik anything less than 9 and i'd consider it a huge disappointment.

Good question. I'm willing to bet he made things a lot more complex after his stint in the NFL.
The problem is these players are students and can't devote the time a professional can.
I'm only speculating on this but it seems the most logical
