the Washington post has an article out about the arms race in college sports where they talk about schools building these fancy complexes to get kids to come to there school. they focused on Clemson who is going so overboard that somebody needs to step up and say that this can't happen as most schools aren't going to even come close to matching them. Clemson is building a 55 plus million facility or fun park as I call it that will have a inside mini golf course, laser tag, movie theatre, bowling alley, baber shop and several indoor sand volley ball courts amongst many other amenities

Shows you the amount of revenue generated from this sport and priority - people want bread and circuses - let the games begin.

And the overall graduation rate for D1 schools hovers around 50%.

Our priorities are way out of line.

Lane Kiffin using co-eds from TN while he was there as 'escorts' to sway high school players to his program.

That is too far. But hey, now Saban considers him a positive and mature voice for his football players.

me and some guys at work were talking about this and one of them said another school now is going to want to out do them and make one with a large indoor water park with various size water slides. question how can the wake forest or nc states of the acc compete with this recruiting wise

I guess I know that wake forest and co. weren't competing with Clemson anyway but nobody in general in that region is going to be able to compete with them now. if the fun house was open to the whole university then it wouldn't be a big issue but when they build it for football players only then that's where the university crosses over the line in my opinion

it is only for the football team because they interviewed the Clemson coach about it in the Washington post article and he was talking about how excited he was to get this for his football team. I don't know if the ncaa could stop them from building this massive fun house for football players only

parents have to be impressed by that! especially the uneducated irresponsible one's!

You don't know what you are talking about as always!

Keep in mind you're talking about a guy that went to NW Missouri State. That's a teachers college for students weren't able to get into the University of Missouri. In other words, a glorified community college. So, consider the source.

That seems about right because he is trying to compare two different types of schools. Maybe he was trying to say a degree from Wake would cost you more than one from Clemson then he would be right but it doesn't open anymore doors for you in life.

Although graduation rates are not really much better for non-athletes even for a 6 year period to finish and graduate.

From: https://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=40

"The 2013 6-year graduation rate for first-time, full-time undergraduate students who began their pursuit of a bachelor's degree at a 4-year degree-granting institution in fall 2007 was 59 percent. That is, 59 percent of first-time, full-time students who began seeking a bachelor's degree at a 4-year institution in fall 2007 completed the degree at that institution by 2013."

Yes, Wake Forest is much higher rated, but don't just believe me. It wasn't a shot at Clemson, Wake Forest is a much better school.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Clemson is mainly a engineering school and Wake is a Liberal Arts and business school. Clemson is one of the top engineering schools in America , in fact all BMW are tested at Clemson before they are sold here. Who cares about some stupid article you found ranking schools base on their exceptional college experience or if they attract a diverse student body. Those are not factors you look for when you want to receive a good education. Apparently you didn't read that article because if you are using that to back you up then you are truly a village idiot and need to stop posting under your 20 screen names,

Just curious how long the football and basketball players get to test drive the BMWs before they are approved?
