What I would like to see vs. Temple

College football is too fickle for me to guess what the score and statistics might be at the end of the game tomorrow; however, there are some things I would like to see from the game:

1. Better timing between the running backs and offensive line. I feel that since the days of Ty, either the running backs hit the hole before the line has a chance to create lanes or the line makes the lanes but the running back is not near the point of attack yet. Crisp blocking and timing of the RBs burst would be phenomenal.

2. Tighter coverage. Whether it is zone, man, or combo coverages, I hope to see the ND DBs and LBs closer and in better position on the route runners. Fewer plays where the receiver has a 5 yd cushion between he and the defenders. Although I do get that each coverage option essentially has an intentional soft spot depending on the scheme.

3. More tackles for loss or within 1-2 yds of the LOS. This would show the confidence and comfortability of the D-Line, LBs, and drop down safeties in the scheme for the run game and short passing game allowing them to play more downhill.

4. Logistics. Calling timeouts intentionally rather than to correct errors in alignment, few to no offsides or illegal procedure penalties, and quick/efficient rotations of players and alignment pre-snap.

I do not review games aside from watching it live like other well-versed posters here. These 4 listed above have stood out to me for quite some time. Some years they are better than others. I hope this year is better. Go Irish.

What would you like to see?

...and include gang tackling under number 3 as well. Not usually an issue, just fun to watch.

Under #1 I will add an Oline that steam rolls the other team's Dline. Haven't had a mauling Oline since the days of Joe Moore. IMO.

Do you think BK will go full steam ahead against Temple, unless absolutely necessary, or try and keep something held back with Georgia watching intently?

An oline that lives up to it's preseason hype and dominates. And a defense that looks aggressive, can tackle, and plays with passion and emotion.

I would like to see good sound tackling, better special teams play, able to convert on 3rd and 1 or 2 by lining up in the I and pounding the ball instead of the stupid bk shotgun on 3rd and .5 yard and not making it.

I will like to see Wimbush make the right decision on the RPOs and read options. The running game would really benefit if he does that.

Red Zone efficiency. I want Yoon to exhaust his leg tomorrow on KOs, not FGs.

Defensive splash plays like TFLs and TOs.

60% pass completion average for 250 yds passing and 250 yds rushing.

That is what I want to see.

WIN...all other analysis should be left to paid professionals. Not message board mumbo jumbo drivel fron 40 year old fan boys aka.The Sewing Circle.

3 or more sacks.
Consistent pressure from outside rushers.
Multiple 10-15 yard punt returns.
Running plays inside the the Red Zone.
Consistent push on 3rd and short running plays.
Dexter Williams. Anyway we can get.

I really hope we don't see five wide, empty backfield sets, inside the opponent five yard line, on first down especially.

Who took the jelly out of your donut? If you don't want message board mumbo jumbo, then don't get on the message board. There wasn't a damn thing wrong with the thread until you got a redwood up your @$$

I'd like to see a conservative game plan that contains temples offense but does not show too much. Im totally fine with a 3-4 point win as long as ND is in control and holding a little back.

Defense: I hope to see a team that plays fast and instinctively, with aggression. Hard hitting good fundamental tackling, constant pressure on their QB, two turnovers, contain their running, and eliminate big plays. Both freshmen getting twenty reps and critical game experience. Hold Temple to 17 pts.
Offense: I hope to see a dominant running game on both sides of center, with dependable success on critical short yardage situations. Wimbush in calm control of the offense and pace of the game, with limited but effective passing that produces 250 yards on twenty passes and two TDs and no INT, and a running game that produces 250 yards and two TDs and no turnovers. Score 34 Pts with vanilla offense.
Special Team: I hope to see kick off returns that create running lanes for Sanders and Finke that gets us great field position every time, and one that eliminates the same for Temple. No fumbles and no bobbles!

I would like to see the Irish grind the owls into the ground. Totally humiliate them and destroy their bodys and souls.

Pluck 'em
