What a horse!

Good for him.

Now, if history holds … ND should have a good football season this fall.

impressive: dominant. Makes you shudder at Sec's 31 length victory!
I was expecting the jock to turn AP loose sooner, but you never felt doubts he would open him up.

Only Sec went faster!

I was there that day and Secretariat's performance at the Belmont was the greatest athletic feat I've ever seen. (And seeing him in the paddock before -- he had this swagger. There was no question he was going to win.)

Mr. Ed - another "nag"! He had a better vocabulary than you! And with "wisdom"!

oh, Wilber!

Now they will put him out for stud like a common street walker....shame......

Did anyone see the side by side race between American Pharaoh and Secretariat? I think it was done by Wall Street Journal. The video displayed the times for both horses at certain intervals until the finish line. No spoiler alert. If you want to know which horse won then you will have to watch the video. I think it was clever.

I've seen some great horses run in person. While I regrettably was unable to see American Pharoah run, I still think the best horses I've seen in person are Lost In The Fog, Afleet Alex, California Chrome, and Big Brown. Curious to hear of the experiences of others.

Though I'm not a racing fanatic, I went to see Cigar at Arlington Racetrack back in 1995. In that race he won his 16th race in a row. The gate handed out free stogies on entry. Forty thousand race fans, terrific weather, it was a blast.

anyone really dumb enough to think the side by side would have anything except Big Red winning by a country mile?

I guess Irish Jack is that dumb.

On that day in June of 1973, there never has been and probably never will be a horse that could have stayed with, let alone beaten Secretariat. What sets it apart is how fast he ran the first mile- a record by a full second at Belmont. You look at AP and his times are frankly pedestrian compared to Big Red- and AP is a great horse. But when you are talking about the Greatest Race Horse of all Time all others pale in comparison.

Red's Derby and Preakness wins are even more significant than the Belmont. Faster by four and five seconds each (though AP's Preakness was in mud)

Without a doubt you had to watch the video first before you came up with your dazzling comment. Way to be edgy.

considering I watched both LIVE when they happened you are the dummy.[/QUOTE

Isn't it easy to post this stuff on an anonymous free message board? I never even heard of you until now. You never watched Secretariat live at anytime because a grown mature adult would not have the childish responses that you are giving this thread. There is nothing about you that is witty or intimidating.
