No. 17 Notre Dame women's basketball (4-1) is scheduled to face Ball State (5-0) in Muncie, Indiana, on Friday. Tip off is 5 p.m. EST.
The Irish are coming off a 113-35 win vs. Chicago State earlier this week while the Cardinals defeated IUPUI 67-63 on Wednesday. Notre Dame won 95-60 when these two programs met last November in South Bend.
Notre Dame has scored over 100 points in three of its first five games. Freshman guard Hannah Hidalgo leads the Irish in scoring with 25 points per game. Maddy Westbeld is the only other active player scoring in double figures at 14.2 points per game. The Irish are shooting 36% from the 3-point line and are outrebounding their opponents an average of 44-32 so far this season.
Ball State has four players — Madelyn Bischoff, Ally Becki, Annie Rauch and Nyla Hampton — averaging 10 points or more this season.
Notre Dame will be without guard Sonia Citron, who head coach Niele Ivey said is expected to return in two weeks from a sprained knee.
The Irish will likely use the same starting five as Tuesday: Hidalgo, Westbeld, guards Anna DeWolfe and Cassandre Prosper and forward Kylee Watson.
