ND Hall-of-Fame coach Muffet McGraw and former Duke men's head basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will receive the 2025 Naismith Outstanding Contributors to Basketball Award Wednesday at the Embarc Collective in Tampa ahead of the Women’s Final Four. Both former coaches were named as award winners back in December.
First awarded in 1982, the Naismith Outstanding Contributor to Basketball Award is given annually to those whose exceptional efforts have created a lasting, positive influence on the game. The recipients exemplify character, integrity, and dignity and make substantial contributions to the growth and sustainability of basketball.
McGraw retired after the 2020 season with a 936-292 record in 39 season as a college head basketball coach. That includes a 848-252 mark in 33 seasons at Notre Dame.
Also at the same event, the Atlanta Tipoff Club will reveal its 2025 winners for women's college basketball Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year. Notre Dame sophomore Hannah Hidalgo is a finalist for both Naismith Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
