Vinny Freeman, oldest son of Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman, secured a third-place finish in the IHSAA state finals in the 175-pound weight class.

The junior at Mishawaka (Ind.) Penn picked up his 100th victory of his high school career in the quarterfinals with a 12-9 decision, but he lost to Center Grove's Julian Weems by technical fall (22-4) in the semifinals. Freeman won third place with a 10-2 major decision over Delta's Kaeb Stebbins.
