USC vs ND

I'm surprised people haven't commented on this.

First, I'm guessing they are trying to figure out a way to keep the game going, but second, do you ever get the feeling that the rivalry has run its course? It still seems to be a big thing for ND, but USC just seems indifferent to it -- even when they won last year.

Absolutely. First thing I said to my buddy. SC does not seem to understand the importance of the game especially at ND. Where it really takes on a life of its own. When Caleb Williams brings up UT vs OU in reference to ND vs SC you can tell he doesn't fully get it. Or doesn't want to. Add in transfers galore and you have a team that might not have realized what they were walking into. But I do not see how SC can continue to play the game. And ND would be crazy to play it to open the season every year. SC might have to play it Thanksgiving weekend and pretty much give a W to ND every year it's in SB. But that will also impact the Stanford game.

I can understand if a rivalry fizzles out and is not what it once was. I kind of sens that this has happened with USC. I personally am not as vitriolic towards USC as I am towards Ohio State. Why not play Ohio State every year instead?

Two schools I never want to see ND never play again, Ohio State and Miami Hurricanes. POS programs and fans.

Lol USC gets their ass beat by Notre Dame and now suddenly they "don't get" the rivalry.

Personally I wouldn't want to get it either after I just got beat by 28 points.

So you don't see the validity in surmising that a team full of transfers might not truly understand the magnitude of a game? Particularly in South Bend where probably 70 percent of the team has never been. I think it's great you LOL. My really good friend who played at USC for 5 years and started in the game at SC and in SB seemed more inclined to agree. I'll take his opinion over yours.

Watching Williams on the sidelines when Utah was driving toward its winning field goal, I saw a kid who didn’t care what was happening. He was sitting by himself with a bored expression while every Trojan player was standing on the sidelines extolling their defense on. When the game he was escorted from the field by his personal bodyguards. I’ve heard stories about his indifference in the locker room.
