I think it is more like he believes in his team. It is not like they are bums. They are capable of winning as this game could go either way. Haven't seen the clip but maybe he wasn't talking smack.

If USC was at full strength, and Sam had his full OL and the defense was at full strength, SC would probably win this game going away. But given the state of these teams at this point in the season ND should beat a very weakened SC team by 17.

Do you realize how precarious these teams are. Example: if Nelson or McGlinchey were to go out in the opening drive how such a development might change the direction of the whole game? It could be any key player.

Darnold looks like a more athletic Cody Kessler to me. not sure how he will do in the pros. his wr won't be wide open like he has enjoyed in his time at SC. yes he has the arm talent and size. BUT what he saw tonight is what he is going to see in the nfl. and going to a bad team will be bad news for him in the nfl. too much hype on him this yr. and other than Carson Palmer what SC qb has really done a good job in the nfl even in the petey yrs?
