Notre Dame wasn't in play for Suwanne (Ga.) North Gwinnett four-star wideout Josh Imatorbhebhe, but his commitment to USC on Monday, could eventually have an impact on the Irish's recruiting efforts in Los Angeles.
The Trojans now have two wide receivers committed to the class in Imatorbhebhe and Velus Jones, and a third in the fold with Melquise Stovall committed as a offensive "athlete." While USC will likely take a few more wideouts this cycle, space at the position is going to be at a premium, and that's where the Irish could benefit down the line.
Javon McKinley, Tyler Vaughns, Trevon Sidney and Jack Jones are all Southern California-based targets that Notre Dame and USC have both offered, and if the Trojans can't find room for the talent, they will likely have to look elsewhere. Pac-12 schools like UCLA and Oregon are certainly options, but with Notre Dame looking to get some traction in the Los Angeles area, this could be a prime chance to capitalize. USC can't take everyone, and the Trojans holding early commitments from Imatorbhebhe and Jones -- two recruits from Georgia and Alabama, respectively -- helps in the big picture of things.
