Up to #5 in the AP poll. Actually two votes away from #4.

I think this is pretty accurate although I don't think OSU should higher than us. They got trounced by 15 at home to Oklahoma...a team that doesn't really play defense.

We lost by 1 to the 2nd best team in the country that we very well could have won.
Remember Georgia needed a miraculous catch in the end zone that day to win.

This will all take care of itself if we keep winning.

If we win in south beach the same way we've been handling other highly ranked teams that alone will cement us in a playoff.

I'll go knock on wood now.

Coaches Pollsters are clueless. To put 2 loss Auburn (haven't beaten anyone and lost to LSU) in front of 2 loss Iowa State (who just had a win vs. #4 and beat Ok) is crazy.

Absolutely Happy with this, and hope the committee comes to the same ranking. With two SEC teams and two Big teams ahead of us, we’re guaranteed that two of them will lose a game going forward.

If ND wins at Miami and loses any of the other 3 they are still out. Gotta win out.

In the back half of the top 25, the SEC teams always get the benefit of the doubt.

Just because you are ranked #2 does not mean that you are the 2nd best team.

They sec gets the benefit of the doubt in all sports because of their espn contract.
Multiple conferences have contracts with ESPN. I believe the SEC is the only conference with a CBS contract. CBS has the first choice SEC game every week.

Not too bad, but it doesn’t matter.

Thank goodness for the age of data and analytics. . The AP poll doesn’t mean jack $&*# anymore and some senile pollsters’, who haven’t seen most of the games, opinions don’t matter anymore,

I shall not be happy until each foe is devoured and the clock reads 0:00/ ND 41 Stanford 17 in Stanford Stadium. Then I will rest comfortably for the final selection results.

Coaches poll is bs - 2 top 5 teams lose and ND moves one spot. BIAS ALERT

A lot of people say that ESPN hates the Irish. I went to the site to check scores and noticed that they had video highlights of every game on the same line as they had the score... every game except one: Notre Dame v. N.C. State.

Please please please, no more playoff talk. Wake Forrest is no gimme. In fact ND could lose the next 4 if they don't play well. Even Navy. People can no longer put Navy in the automatic "w" column. They need to keep focus and have " one game at a time" approach. Do that and hopefully things will sort out in the end.

Is it possible they aren't granted permission by NBC? Maybe not but I'm not sure why else. ND is ratings.
They jump at the chance to broadcast their games.

I do however think it pisses them off Notre Dame won't conform to their little push for every team needing a conference.

Not for 15 years at 2.25 billion. Look at all the sports including the women's dating back to 2008 and then you will see.

I'm happy. We are still outside looking in though depending on how the league playoff games go.

If AP standings equal CFP rankings you have the best possible situation with the 4 conference division leaders above us. Somebody above us gots to lose!

If the above four do not change they'll play each other at seasons end.
