And he shouldn't be fired under 3 years. It's a fine line in CFB today of winning and losing. Unless you've got the very best talent you can't just sleep walk through any game and expect victory.
Freeman is trying to instill his culture, get his guys, all that stuff...plus getting his feet wet...
It does take time.
I don't care about the Marshall loss. Parity is high in CFB.
That said Freeman's fate lies with the OC. If he keeps Rees this ship will sink and it very well could be 3 years. Less if the players quit. That's hard to identify but players can/do quit on coaches. It happens.
If Freeman can beat one of, Syracuse, Clemson, USC (just one victory against those three will do)
And win the rest of the games fans will be fine.
If he loses all of them and a loss to either BC or Navy,
The sky will be falling for 9 months until kick-off 2023...
