Notre Dame will look past UMASS towards the big night in Clemson. It is what college players do.

I think the Irish will pull away from UMASS to win by two or maybe three scores but it won't be pretty.

Please do not get too upset next week ! All that matters is the W ! And staying injury free !!

Love your optimism, but having an extra week to prepare has always worked well for Notre Dame, so I'm sure it will for Clemson too. That game will be a barn burner. A very hostile environment for a young quarterback.

Bodi - If the team is focused they beat UMASS by 21+ . UMASS will not be able to score many points vs a focused ND defense and Kelly teams score 30+ in their sleep . UMASS lost by 34 vs Colorado who has not had a legit team in a millennium . Colorado lost to hawaii by 8 and last yr colorado was 2-10 .

If ND does not crush UMASS I would be shocked and appalled .

since its at home i think we'll play well and cruise. If it was away or a neutral site game i'd think we might not play well. But it seems like we play well at home at least so far. predict something like 42-10.

This is a classic example of a trap game. Kelly has a habit of playing down to the level of competition. If we are firing on all cylinders, we should win easily. Wouldn't mind seeing Wimbush in early, for some designed run or quick screen passes. Good game for Kizer to work on mistakes from yesterday. Agree with hopefully seeing a lot of the other running backs. Give C.J. some rest in the second half and get them some experience.

You are right if not too conservative in your prediction. Now that I have had time to decompress from the GTECH game and think about it. I think ND will destroy UMASS.

IMHO this needs to be a statement game for ND. Umass is a team that we out match every where on the field. These are games that ND needs to get back to dominating and not playing down to the competition. If the game is close then the players are not focused. If they blow out Umass then it is a good sign going forward.

Umass is horrible. And have been for quite sometime. They have nothing to to entrap Notre Dame with. I seriously doubt that have seen a defense with the overall athleticism that Notre Dame has since moving to the MAC from the Colonial Athletic Association in 2011. Their record since 2012 is like 5-28. This game will be more like a glorified scrimmage. The younger players who are going to have to contribute more than expected should get some meaningful snaps especially your QBs, Rbs, lbs, and safeties.

UMass is not a terrible team. They are well coached by Whipple. They will be ready to . If ND isn't ready to play,it will be a battle. It would be great to get them down early and cruise with backups getting valuable experience.
