Like so many of you I look back and see nothing but the disappointment of Ohio State, Louisville and Clemson. Then the Stuckey and WR portal thing.
But as a fan since 1973, I’ve seen things a lot worse than this. A 3-9, a 4-8, a few 5 win seasons etc.
I’m old, so I think Bowl Games are still cool, winning them gives you some momentum heading into the winter workouts. With bowl opt outs and the portal, opportunities are available for players who might not have had them.
Going 10-3 and banging on the door of the Top 10, is not where ND wants to be, but it’s better than some of the places ND had been over the past 25 years.
