Thought I put a football post on this football board...

What do our experts say? Everyone is touting Jones at RB. They say he is the best receiver of the group and he is very good running inside. I was remembering Theo and how he caught everything and was our little engine who could running inside for 5 or 6 when we needed a first down. I still remember how he put us on his back vs. USC in the coliseum and got us to the Natty.

Experts and coaches out there -- is this an apt comparison?

Course with Adams and Williams in front of him, he may have a wait a year. (Still I'd like to see him get some substantial carries this year!)

Not an expert or a coach, but I'd like to see TJ play a few downs on the collegiate level first. From the clips and pics I saw TJ looks a little more bulky and less shifty and Theo.

My first thought is that he would be more Robert Hughes because of size,

He does catch like Hughes and Riddick. But few battle to the whistle like Riddick. TJones has to show that before I give him that praise.

As an aside, I think Riddick would have really enjoyed this offense.

Riddick was a 200lb RB, slot receiver hybrid. A dynamic, fluid, athlete and an all around football player, something we're seeing as he excels in thr NFL.

Tony Jones is 224lbs and stoll growing. He's a legitimate SEC style running back, but he was also a centerfielder in baseball and has terrific handeye coordination. When looking for a back to compare him to in terms of skill set and body type, I'd say fellow former state of Florida product, 6'0, 220lb Edgerrin James. A very smart, quality runner and an elite pass protector as well as pass catcher out of the backfield. A bigger back who could run with power, but had the skill set of a smaller back as well. When Adams is gone, I think Jones Jr is going to be special.

Riddick was a slot WR, who really only became an RB during his senior year...and normally played closer to 190lbs than anything else.

And for all of Riddick's assets, speed was not one of them. He was a tough runner, especially given his size, and is an elite pass catcher out of the backfield.

Jones is about 30lbs bigger than Riddick ever way, already, and far more powerful. Neither one is a game-breaker. It remains to be seen if Jones ample pass catching skills can come close to Riddicks.

Overall, Jones is a pretty exciting RB prospect...especially if we can pair him with more of a "game-breaker"

Both Jones and Adams are very good receivers. Adams is the workhorse and will run for a 1000 yards and 14 TDs

Adams is a really good back. I know some of you are down on him after last year but I fully expect him to have a great junior year.

I think the running game can be as good if not better than it was in 2015.

If Kelly decides to use it. Remember, this is the coach who threw the ball 30 times in a hurricane. I'm still scratching my head at that one.

I went bald scratching my head over that game, lost my voice due to permanent damage from hollering at the TV, kicked in three TVs and damn near nailed the dog. Otherwise, a fun and competitive game with a game plan designed to shock and awe.

Theo played like a 230 pound back vs. USC that day. Just ran at 'em and through 'em... I was there and it was a great day. Kiffen running around with his rolled up plays. Manti being Manti. Probably the best win the coliseum since the Tony Rice's 65 yard run in '88. But also I remember Reggie Brooks having some big games vs. the trojans in their house... Gonna be a tough one this year even at home.
