Exactly. You can vehemently disagree with someone while still truly appreciating the freedoms that you share equa
The way I see it is this. Jesse participated for 4 years as a member of the Notre Dame football team. During those 4 years he bled and sweat with his teammates, through thick and thin. He stayed out of trouble from what we know, upheld his end of the bargain as a student / athlete, his dad paid his absurd tuition (not that it would be an issue for him) and he graduated on time with his teammates.
He did nothing to disrespect Notre Dame. He didn't spray paint Touchdown Jesus or speak up against the Christian Faith. He simply decided to vacate the premise when an INVITED SPEAKER, a non member of the Notre Dame community spoke at Commencement... Mountain out of a molehill.
Two years ago we were invited out to Colorado to do some joint training with your Air Force PJ'S. American and Canadian medics and Corpsmen teach a lot of different medical principles to each other as we have differing approaches, both of which are extremely proven and affective. On day 3 of this training exercise a bit of bickering started between personnel from both sides over the best methods for maintaining circulation in a given scenario. Statistics showed that the method we teach is the best way to go, but a former marine corpsman who had seen multiple combat tours in Afghanistan and had successfully implemented the technique he was taught, with success, on the battlefield, wanted no part of hearing our argument for his method. He literally walked off during the argument and only came back when commanded to do so by his CO... Was that disrespectful? Maybe. But could you blame him given his experience. I couldn't. The rest of those PJ'S stayed and listened intently, despite their clear objection to the technique. Just like 99% of the graduating students stayed to listen to Pence, many of whom may not agree with what the current administration has to say...
So my question to you is this. Would you slander a current PJ and former marine, who has represented your country with great honor, simply because he disagreed with somebody else and chose to walk away?.. I would certainly hope not.
And if you wouldn't, then why would you slander a kid who has been an excellent representative of Notre dame during his time in South Bend, just because he disagreed with what a politician had to say?
Speaking of betrayal... You'd take the side of a filthy (I use that word in jest) University of Indiana grad in Pence, over one of your own, a proud Notre Dame grad in Bongiovi??... Ewwwww. I think Ohio State or Michigan are looking to expand their fan base, maybe you should look into it
