Those at the game

The addition over the east side towers over the stadium and its something to get used to. Right now, the addition is just a skeleton but it's there. Not even close to any scoreboard work. This is how the whole thing works during the season. Before each home game the university gets possession of the stadium for most of the weekend upon safety inspection and other considerations. Then, once the game is over, the university hands the stadium back over to the contractor immediately for work to continue. All the orange safety fences were moved in and the area surrounding the stadium was temporarily but nicely paved for fans. It will be a site once completed, that's for sure. Oh, by the way, the new molded plastic bench style stadium seats have been installed in the small area where the recruits and their families sit.

Seriously? You have 23,394 posts and you ask if the video board is in yet? They have not even started above ground construction of the Crossroads Music Building where the screen will be placed. The screen and ribbon boards will not be operational until the 2017 season. Spend a few minutes less posting and actually read some of the information that is out there! I have attached a link to the construction....http://www.workzonecam.com/projects/notredame/campuscrossroads/camera5

Not sure where the anger is from, but I can tell you my first visit to campus was 1993 for USC v ND. Lee Becton broke one (maybe first play or close) and we never looked back. In 93, you could drive almost up to the stadium and park next to the Joyce center. There was the big lot in front and the road between the center and the stadium. The campus was always beautiful but around campus was a dump with old houses all around and the line backer... that was about it... you could lake on campus with a RV from Thurs to Sun, no charge..... Tailgates were enormous and there was a very cool weekend vibe..... fast forward, the baseball, hockey, stadium is all new.... the Joyce center looks like it has been completely redone inside... one of the nicer basketball venues I have seen.... there are new buildings all around campus and the little shopping area (I think its eddy commons) across from the stadium is a welcome break. I didn't make my way into downtown SB but hopefully the University will continue to expand, take land, prop up a dying city and maybe even see some companies come get started out of the school. SB would be Gary IN if not for UND (My humble opinion)...... The university is seemingly going to expand further.... maybe its time to build some new dorms and expand the student body by 5k......I do love that all the buildings, even brand new look like they were built 100 years ago... the hockey building looks like its always been there.... as for the crossroads project, it was answered above.... basically the foundation for the towers on each side... that's about it, but that's will change rapidly.

this is just a generally angry dysfunctional board on a good day;

I bypass most of the jumbotron threads. Red...if you were not there atvthe stadium, why would others interest in how things are progressing be objectionable to you?

Can't you be generous after such a pleasant victory?

There is something else, not that any of the clowns who sold their tickets care about, but, the stadium now has a pre-game DJ, hip hopping the house with speakers located all over the joint. It was loud but not deafening. The students loved it. The administration is trying to make this place a party. I do have a very sore throat today because where I sit, right by the Frosh and Sophs, it was louder than hell the whole game. So, in order to speak to the fans next to me, it had to be in a very loud voice in their ear. Also, I did talk to a group of Longhorn fans near the end of the game and they told me their visit to ND was the very best experience they ever had (I hope that excludes having kids and getting married). And....Jamoris Slaughter, Tony Rice, Bobby Taylor, Pat Terrell, Tim Brown, and Allen Rossum were all on campus beboppin' around. Talking, signing, just being ND friendly. The usher in my area told me Louis Nix was around , but I don't know if that was true. Anyone who is going to will call this season need to be aware that the will call office has now been moved. The old location is no more. Visiting team will call office is stadium Gate B. General will call is The Joyce, Gate 9. And, according to my usher buddies, if you buy an Irish football ticket on Ticketmaster stock, it is fake. OK, that's all I got.
