No mention of Notre Dame on this list. For some reason I have the impression that there are a good number of Irish students and alums participating in Rio ... maybe not 31 like Stanford but definitely more than 11 (lowest number on this list).

This list probably only considers college athletes/alums who represent the USA. While ND alums/students represent a number of other countries plus the USA.
 
yes IrishHerb our irish have several athletes competing in events like rowing and fencing but I don't know how there doing though

I understand that fencer Gerek Meinhardt got a medal. And 10K runner Molly Huddle set a new USA record time but only came in 6th. Not sure of the others.
 
thanks for the info IrishHerb. I've been watching the Olympics but didn't know who the irish athletes were name wise but just read that they had some competing
