This is when you know a RB is good

While watching the ND game this past weekend, on one of Prosise's TD runs he was bouncing it to the outside and there was one defender that had good position to tackle him. I remember realizing there was only one defender and thinking, "Touchdown!" Sure enough he easily made the guy miss and scored.

I don't remember the last time ND had a RB where if only one defender was in his way I was very confident the RB would get by him. It's good to have a RB of his caliber.

Yes indeed. I echo again no disrespect to Folston but Procise is on a different level. Again sometimes you don't find the diamond until you actually put it against the glass. His feet are extraordinary. he makes himself big or small...has a nice slight delay to allow things to develop. His speed is elite. He lowers the pads when contact is coming yet he never takes a punishing rock hard hit..i,e, he is slippery.

Let's just see what happens here the rest of the way. If he continues he will be in New York in December.

I had a similar thought, ndone, on that TD run. Its nice having confidence that our guy will make the play.

Agreed. His run for a TD last year against LSU showed us a ton, and I loved the way he went airborne and found the pylon. He has really good running instincts and a real nose for the goal line, and both were on display with the run the OP references. His acceleration is elite, as is his athleticism, but I didn't expect the moves he has shown.

I think Prosise is great, but I also think he has benefitted from a line that has just been demolishing the opposiiton. I think if Folsten were back there, he'd be putting up 100 plus yards a game easily.

It's so nice to have home run backs at ND again! It was only a couple or three years ago the Irish didn't have a back on their roster with a run over 20yds.

I don't like ill talk about the ill so let's say this.....Folston would be having nice steady numbers from a RB. Having said that he is not even close in the speed category as Procise. Moreover as I watch CJ carry the ball again and again it is clear he is actually a better natural runner than Folston. I say this with zero disrespect to Folston and without him going down we only would know of CJ getting some jet sweeps once in a while.

Sometimes you just don't know until they are tossed to the wolves and low and behold a game breaker that is just a natural back there who also runs hard and I believe can handle 20 plus carries a game if called upon. What a wonderful surprise.

they're both excellent backs. cj is definitely more of the home run hitter. nd is 4-0 with either of them. folson is very , very good. great balance and vision.

Procise is a gem. A rare gem. Instinct and vision like he has is not coachable.
It's God-given natural ability. He has "it", whatever "it" is.

Escapability, speed, power, vision, no wasted motion, anticipation, patience, size - he has it all.
He is truly a special athlete, and those don't fall in your lap very often.
